Leo Varadkar's united Ireland comments are 'unhelpful' says Chris Heaton-Harris, whose lack of b*lls to face down the & their temper tantrum is failure to do his job.

These clowns 🤡 in Westminster can go round breaking international law, threatening to pull out of ECHR which underpins the GFA, then Varadkar is entitled to voice his opinion.

jacqui76,

So what if they are unhelpful - the are proving to be extremely unhelpful by refusing to recognise the outcome of an election & ignoring what the people of voted for.

It is time the were put under pressure, made feel uncomfortable about holding NI to ransom because they can't admit they made a mistake by backing Brexit. Their actions caused this...Time to face up to it!

jacqui76,

@Lazarou

Easier question....when are the British never not 'at it'?

jacqui76,

@samueljohnson

Yeah it is funny that both FF/FG are turning their attention to SF - is there an election on the horizon???? They both really are frightened of them. Plus hypocritical - all parties must work together in the North BUT in the South SF can't be trusted in government! (I do like the way that Leo winds up the though)

True, we all know that the have already half out the door here in NI. Can't see doing anything different after the next election...

jacqui76,

@samueljohnson

If I was I wouldn't be offering the a paddle! They made the mess of backing Brexit & trusting the .

Which is why Jeff is begging them to help him before they lose the election. He knows that he might not even keep his seat in Lagan Valley!

He wouldn't take his MLA seat - local politics is beneath him. (Unless he was First Minister..which isn't going to happen)

Have your say, people. As of a few minutes ago, 72% want a second referendum.

I would rather Northern Ireland had a vote on our constitutional future. I feel that even with a second vote on Brexit - the first one has done permanent damage to the union. Exposed this union as unequal arrangement which is relic of Empire, which we could all do without at this stage!

Plus the could have another vote, rejoining wins, what happens if the says no - it only takes one member to object!

Would Brexit Britain be welcome???

jacqui76,

@michaelwong @fkamiah17

Plus it would have to made very clear during any debate on the run up to a vote - Britain won't be first in the queue to get back in. They won't be getting their rebates back. They will have to join Schengen and adopt the

Britain would be treated the same as those countries who are in the queue wanting to join now.

The people need to be told that there will be no special arrangements for them rejoining, just because they were members once!

@michaelwong @fkamiah17

I can only speak for myself, I think the invasion of Ukraine has reinforced the benefits of being in the EU - like Ireland, the smaller nations have more clout & security when they have the backing of 26 other countries. That is why Brexit went the way it did - the EU was never going to prioritise a non-member over a member state.

It is the same for the increased membership of NATO - countries want an element of security & protection. You only get that by being

jacqui76,

@michaelwong @fkamiah17

part of something - a collective. I think that the attitude to the EU has never been that collegiate - it was always about what they could get out of it. It was never about the spirit of cooperation.

Now when the world looks so unstable - being on the outside looking in, doesn't feel great.

Plus the individual countries in the EU don't have the same clout as America etc. So it makes sense to become one bloc - you have more sway on the world stage.

compare & contrast that match with Ireland’s performance. It was like watching an entirely different sport

jacqui76,

@mark_f_lynch

Ireland got off to a good start today. 12 tries was impressive, however they weren't prefect. There was mistakes especially in the first half. Even Andy Farrell said he thought they have things to improve on. They need to work on their line-outs for starters.

But yes, every other match today at the was a different sport compared to

jacqui76,

@mark_f_lynch

Argee totally Mark...room for improvement

jacqui76, (edited ) to random

If Farrell replaces Ford when he becomes available for . They are not gonna win a match considering all of points & this victory is thanks to Ford's kicking ability!!

It might make everyone feel better after England's recent performances but is it really good enough?

Also, will this work against a top-tier team?? Who will pressure England alot more than this team has!

jacqui76,

@mark_f_lynch

made them look good! They were shocking tonight - even though they were the team that played rugby & scored a try!

have to play the game at some point - they just can't keep kicking their way to victories? They have to try and play at some point???

I think this will go to their heads, they will think they are better than what they actually are. Then they come up against a team that will be better than & they will be shown up.

jacqui76,

@upbristol

England were lucky that Argentina didn't turn up tonight. If they continue to play like that they won't be top tier for very long. That could have been a very different game and outcome. However, a win is a win, even though it wasn't pretty & no tries were scored.

Once the hype calms down about winning a match. I think some hard questions need to be asked about this team. Are they planning on showing any rugby ability. Also, are they replacing Ford with Farrell?

jacqui76, to random

So this is the plan for the World Cup - smack everyone in the head & kick their way through games! It is not a great look.

They should at least try to play the game. It does seem like they have admitted they can't beat by scoring tries.

So they may win the match, which all the commentators will be delighted about - 'they have turned a corner' but have they really???

jacqui76, to Rugby

Are planning on actually trying to play and score a try? Or are they just going to kick the ball the whole night???

Is this how bad it has become for England - they aren't even going to try...

jacqui76,

@daithimacthomais

It is admission they can't play the game, which is a shame. Some ball handling skills being displayed might be nice at some stage. Even possibly running...🏃

If they're not planning on showing any rugby skills maybe they should try a GAA match???

jacqui76,

@mark_f_lynch

Yeah need to get better - they need to calm down...they are rattled.

When are the Rugby players going to learn about these tackles! Seriously another red card...
