Learned loads about lime quarrying and cement production today. The Brandenburg Gate’s materials came from here (and most everything else in Berlin you see today).

In the tunnels under the hill in pic #4 on the far right, the Nazi government hid the national science library from allied bombing and the GDR government had its emergency bunkers there.

Limestone monoliths across earth ages.

Well, officially in the market for a Slack replacement now. Hit me. What are you personally happy with in a small business setting, strong macOS/iOS support, user friendly, including nontechnical folks?

Funny, in #JavaScript it is unnerving to use a library version that has not had a release in four days. https://social.vivaldi.net/@Patricia/112447339260051370

ICMY: I’ll be dropping some serious knowledge this Wednesday.

All of the things I’ve learned working on and with CouchDB since 2007 when it comes to database and document design.

Many bits also easily translate to other Document DBs and Key-Value Stores, so this is going to be useful even beyond CouchDB.

I recently discovered Grip, Inc and my current hyperfocus is their track Hostage to Heaven off their first album. It is ridiculously good. (Heads up, heavy and fast music).

This example is just guitar and drums, but that’s all it really needs imo.

I’m doing a 150km, two-transfer bike & train trip. I’m half way in, AMA.

First one is a freebie: the first and last ~10km of each end of the trip are not covered by busses in any useful fashion and I didn’t wanna rely on cabs or other cars, that’s why I’m taking the bike.

Just drove 124km at 73 km/h avg speed (only a short segment on the Autobahn), used 13.5 kWh/100km or ~1.5L/100km (235mpg). The efficiency of EVs is remarkable. Oh and 69%(nice) charge left off the 99% charge at start. 🖖

Wrote some tests reluctantly on ~50 LoC of “mostly glue code”. Ended up getting sucked in and wrote 350 LoC tests, got to 99.5% coverage, found three bugs and clarified two undefined behaviours. Time to write all this was commensurate with the rest of the dev time, even.

Also properly learned sinon.js in the process. It is very good and worth knowing.

Conclusion: testing, it’s good!

The hip device is just an Android app. Android is just Linux on a phone. A phone is a computer in a pocket. A computer is just highly compressed sand.

Have better discourse, please 🙄

So with GitHub Actions and “re-run failed jobs”, it’s 20/80 chance that the PR actually gets updated with the then passed checks or what am I missing?
