If this is true it’s rather embarrassing that the biggest Canadian Mastodon instance decided for me that I shouldn’t be able to interact with Threads. https://mstdn.ca/@bunnyhero/112185360941965228
Has anyone had any luck with Threads federation? I turned it on in Threads and tried looking for my account, but I don’t see it here on Mastodon. Is this a #mstdnca limitation, or has anyone had luck with it on other instances.
Was messing around with #AppleShortcuts again tonight and think I really got my head around pulling data from JSON. I’m sure lots of other people were doing the same on a Saturday night 😂
@jbwharris My AFO support inbox and my experience tell me that most people are not aware that most actions come with documentation, so don't feel bad 😉
I received this email from the Cambridge Times and think it really embodies the disconnect that exists. The idea that they feel their publication is my favourite and that the print edition was beloved. When I think of the print edition I think junk mail, a paper that prioritized selling its front cover to a used car 4 page ad. A paper that got thinner and thinner, while filling the paper with articles from Guelph and KW instead of covering Cambridge.
@waterlooregion It’s been a long time since Cambridge has had a newspaper that was beloved, and odds are it’s back to when the Cambridge Reporter closed.
Damn, that #Loki finale was phenomenal. Some of the best crafted television I’ve seen in a long time, and I’m not even quantifying that with comic book television. It was that good.
@RememberUsAlways to be honest, I hope so. I’m a big fan of tight storytelling, and given the structure of the MCU there’s no real reason it couldn’t stand on its own as 12 episodes of excellence, then have the story carry on in some other way in the MCU. Though I’m also cynical of Hollywood’s ability to leave anything alone.
@rm4 To tell you the truth, I have no idea if he was acknowledged or anything with those stickers. They were one of those bulk Amazon packs with like 100 stickers. I never really thought of it, but odds are he wasn't compensated.
I keep messing up threading on #Mastodon. Should I be replying to the first post in a thread repeatedly, or replying to the reply, until finished the thread?
That episode was awesome and everything it needed to be. The Threepio cameo was absolutely immaculate. It served to tie in the broader story, while giving a heartfelt nod to Carrie Fisher and the Original Trilogy. Just hearing Anthony Daniels voice just brought immediate joy and Threepio genuinely deserves a good polish after being tarnished in the Sequels.
@jbwharris I guess they were catering to all the Boba freaks out there, which I wasn't really one, didn't care much about him before it- guess it gave a little perspective. But I was mostly there for the Tusken stuff. 🤣
I have a CSS question I feel like I've tried to figure out for years. Is there a way of forcing a short menu item to always break to 2 lines without adding an additional element, like a span or br tag? I know I've previously faked it by capping the width of the list items, but as you can see in the example, an About Us menu item is always going to be 1 line if you cap the width to account for a word like Resources. Does anyone know of a way of achieving this using modern CSS?
If you're like me and don't want to interact with Twitter, but also know that sometimes useful information exists there, I found some useful browser extensions for solving just that problem. Anytime a Twitter link is clicked, it just loads the nitter dot net equivalent.
