Fedi, some advice please: I recently bought a steel frame (it's part of a table). The paint is flaking off.

I don't want the expense or faff of having it powder-coated - can I just roughly sand off the existing flakes of paint, spray-prime it then use something like a spray paint from a car bodywork place to refresh it?

Tips please..

Tonight in the pub I had a wonderful chat with an older bloke who'd lost his wife to cancer. We bonded over love of prog rock, urban exploration, and all sorts of stuff. Conversation turned to school days and we compared notes. He asked me a couple of times where I went to school.

Eventually I mentioned the school. It's a local boy's school I went to in the 80s. And I was outed again.

He called me 'mate' after that, and I really hoped after so long it wouldn't bother me, but hey.

Onward.

Hey Fedi, I’m after a couple of freelance illustrator recommends to help me with a cartoon headshot for the Retro Roadshow project.

I’ve got the basic style but need it to look a bit more like ‘me’ (specs, fringe, etc. are wrong on the current one) and have a couple of variants of facial expression. Needs to be supplied in vector form (AI, EPS, PDF all good or whatever the kids use nowadays).

Paid, obvs. Not after anything for free.

I could really do with something to keep a list of what vinyl I have.

I’ll probably just do a spreadsheet for the mo, but are there any open-source self-hosting recommendations please, or do I just build my own?

Also require: accessible via web browser on-the-move so easily used in a shop while browsing, and doesn’t give Google money or data. Extra points if it’ll log playlists as I gig.

Come across if you fancy! There's proper beer too, not this chemical shite you get in supposed queer bars who slap a few crinkled rainbow flags up to milk the pink pound (she said cynically 😉).

Maybe even the only aftershow run by queer people for queer people.

Head's troubled at the moment. Feeling very very alone again, need to sort that shit out really. It's one of those times when I miss intimacy.

Thankfully it doesn't happen often nowadays, but when it does, it hits quite hard. Bleh.
