Personally, I’m partial to a thin crust cheese pizza folded and dipped into either hot sauce or ranch. But I also enjoy modest amounts of meat, greens and pineapple.
I read a book about the realization that 50% of other people won’t like you, won’t like what you say, your style or whatever. That’s true to life and always good to have in your mind, so you don’t let everything get on a personal level to you.
But there’s always that one special idiot that may also stan you.
Yeah sexy souvenirs are the worst. A colleague from work ( long time ago ) returned from thailand, with a t-shirt saying something like: I’m a Thai Sex Tourist - proudly wearing the t-shirt on his first day back to work.
Back to Mallorca, it is possible to evade most mass tourist activities though. I stayed once with my ex there and we took a posada in the normal center of the city. Since most tourists go the same places, always, we could quickly find some bars and restaurants where locals went.
Some had that “oh no alemanes, sigh” expression on their face, when they noticed we were german. But hey, absolutely understandable.
The posada was also almost empty, just another guy hearing football commentary in Spanish 24/7.
We had fun times. Most locals open up, once they figure that you’re not from the mass tourist group.
I also support the protests. It didn’t have to come that far, mallorquines are very tolerant by nature. Them protesting means things must have gotten worse over the years.
So, you did but the shirt? Made a good deal? What color is it?
I’m actually not sure, like before the vacation he kept talking about planning to have lots of sex there, at the same time he was going together with his wife.
Then he came back and walked around in that shirt telling everyone how exciting the vacation was.
It was all very comical, but at the same time he really was the stereotype of the kind of guy that does this kind of trips irl.
The only thing that I don’t like about that shirt is that it doesn’t come in my size.
She’s just not ready for it yet, but I’m sure your two year old is gonna love it
Looks like we are getting at the post-dystopian check point sooner than thought
That one instance has the power over millions of creatures of any species and for whatever purpose, incarcerated in one big container, to do with them as they please, is more horrific than any story i read so far.
Even more so that we are just starting to find out how intelligent animals really are.
Not to mention the strict rules some species have in their Nest, with some being in danger of being eaten by their own parents or being thrown out of the House Nest by their siblings.
I think i saw this one, they are well written and animated. Love this kind of docs on CGI Sundays.
There’s one of the first climate change focused docs that came out, which I’m never forget. It followed a white bear, while it began to swim towards uncertainty, looking for land. After a very long swim, it reached a small rock/island full of walruses.
Well, the bear was weak enough to wait a little to try to get a bite from a walrus. It was actually his last shot at surviving, since it hadn’t eaten for a long time.
It tried, just for a walrus to sink one tooth in the bears side. It was over in a second. The bear just retreaded a few meters, sat down and awaited it’s own death.
New tech and tracking devices have very much enhanced documentaries in the last years. It’s very refreshing to see a deeper and more nuanced depiction of our world.
I felt a little betrayed by “My friend the octopus” though. Did you watch it?
Dying of starvation, after being rescued… Life’s really a bitch.
My Octopus Teacher. That’s the one i meant. It’s good, but i found one decision of the human very wrong, i couldn’t have lived with it. But since you haven’t seen it, i don’t want to spoil.
It’s really fascinating to see the octopus behaving the way it behaves towards the human. I always have to remember myself that this isn’t fiction, no CGI, it’s the way the octopus really took things.

Thank you Microsoft, just what I always wanted. Hard to believe this is real.
