Fellow #MotoGuzzi#motorcycle owners will probably disown me (🤣) but I downsized and traded in my 2015 Guzzi. Opted for a smaller, lighter ride and huge boost in MPG with a 2024 #Triumph Speed 400.
Was considering a #RoyalEnfield Hunter 350 but for the extra $1,000, I think you get a lot more in the Speed 400. I will miss the unique, analog character of the Guzzi for sure, however.
@Fury I have ridden a Hunter 350 and it’s a fantastic little bike. I think you’ll love it! My main reason for the Speed 400 over the Hunter is the roads here in the U.S.
The Hunter is fine on nearly all of them save for the interstates and such. Speed limits are 70 there and if you do that speed, you’ll get run over. The Speed 400 gives me a little more power for those roads as needed on occasion. Cheers!
@ianbetteridge great read, thanks for sharing! Among the many good points, this resonates most to me because I didn’t learn it until late in life:
“Don’t kid yourself that your institution cares about individuals. The point of an institution is that it can function without any particular individuals.”
Should we stay in our current house or should we look for a more suitable #retirement home? As a #minimalist, I’m leaning towards a smaller place. And I recently saw a “smart” pre-fab home that appears ideal and reasonably priced.
The “smarts” aren’t likely what you think, but they make all the difference.
@jnv Yup, I'd love to see that too. We keep focusing on "more" and "bigger" when it comes to housing, which isolates certain regions / income levels from home ownership.
@jasonmcfadden Thanks! I’d look to Chrome Unboxed, 9to5 Google, and Android Central for coverage. I also had Google Alerts for ChromeOS and related topics. More noise than signal there but you might find some other good coverage. Cheers!
When I tell people I’ve never installed Chrome, they look at me like I’m crazy. But given what’s going on with Google now, appears to have been a good decision.
@mako Good strategy IMO. I’m beholden to Google for some business things, i.e.: AdSense, Analytics, Search Console, etc… But that relationship is coming to an end very soon. I have tried and do like @Perplexity but need to spend more time with it.
