@film_girl 💯agree on this! The Safari extension model is awful, it’s the main reason I refuse to use Safari for most things.

@avakining absolutely. The various blockers for Safari just aren’t the same and are just worse in very meaningful ways.

@film_girl it's pretty awful — I wish there was a better middle ground between running lightly vetted extensions ala Chrome/Firefox and Apple's egregiously heavy-handed approach.

@film_girl It’s such a shame that it’s as terrible as it is. You either have people with a Mac who know no better, or people with a Mac who will switch to a browser that will allow for a better overall browser experience with ublock origin and similar.

@film_girl I only have my kids use Safari on their iPads/iMac because of the screen time and parental controls deep integration. Otherwise for the rest of the family it’s Chrome or Firefox lol
