When people here on #mastodon who vote in the US are considering their vote or whether to disengage, please keep in mind that during the George Floyd protests, #Trump asked Defense Sec. Esper to bring in 10,000 troops and also asked "Can't you just shoot them?" meaning the protesters. Trump and #MikeFlynn wanted to invoke the Insurrection Act to deploy troops to stay in power. Next time, there will be no restraint. That is what Americans face and IMO we have to be clear-eyed about it.
Although we knew this after Bush v. Gore and #SCOTUS result-oriented, partisan decision there, #SCOTUS has completely divested itself of its legitimacy. Each of the MAGA Justices plus Roberts and Thomas, have irrefutably shown they are political hacks, just like #MikeJohnson, #moscowmitch, #matt_gaetz, #MTG, #elise_stefanik, #tuberville, #TedCruz, #joshhawley and the rest of the #traitors in Federal State and local government.

@lawyersgunsnmoney don’t forget that regardless of the position of the instance you’re on you can still block interactions with threads on an individual level.
As I’d mentioned before publicly posted data is still publicly available to anyone with a browser but if you want to personally not federate with any given server you can. Mastodon is excellent for that level of control, as it should be!
