this is not ok. @Mastodon should know better. this is an explicitly anti fediverse direction to take and if this doesnt cause a massive pushback against the mastodon project I would be very surprised.
Really want to start working on designing a fediverse client app that has first class support for all the non microblogging stuff. I am not a programmer and I have no intention to start but I do have a mind filled with ideas I want to see in the world and an eye for design and UX/UI. I want it to be community guided from the beginning. If anyone has interest in colabing on a wireframe please @ me.

I really need a new phone the one I am using is feeling unusably slow now that I have all the apps I want to use on it. I don't buy new electronics (unless oshw) but I would get a used device from someone. Would like to run @calyxos or @GrapheneOS. Anyone have a used Pixel or Mi or Fairphone they would want to sell me?
disappointing how little of my feed is talking about the massive things going on that are not as personally close to them as... the linux kernel and what javascript framework is currently being discussed... maybe thats on me for who I am inclined to follow in the first place, but this feels like it needs to change

Was sitting on a flixbus today trying to sketch out the bounds for what is and is not in place for a fediverse "dating" app. I dont think dating is really the right frame of reference but its the closest social phenomenon of apps mediating in person 1x1 meetings.
Are there any internet radio standards people on the fedi I can follow? whos working on streaming standards? @gabek does Owncast support any streaming audio standards?
