I've been pondering to write a 'PinePhone Pro: Two Years In' post, but I don't really feel up for it. I never used it much - audio issues, empty battery, ... I do pick it up to play with libcamera things, or to use it as a 'focus on one thing'-computer with my LG Dual Up and Sway, but I have not tried to use it as a phone in months.

As a long time ARMv7/aarch64 Linux user, I totally forgot that things in #Linux x86_64 land can be quite cursed, too.

My new AliExpress-sourced P8 Intel N100-powered 8" mini-laptop re-educated me in how difficult some hardware can be.

I only managed to boot Ubuntu and Fedora installers successfully and went with Silverblue (instead of NixOS). I now have an Intel device that boots up with screen sideways and uses Software Rendering 🫣️ (1/2)

Thanks to esim.me I have a use case for a dual boot setup - I also want to keep using postmarketOS on the device.
Currently, Shift OS L is installed.
Is there a step-by-step guide somewhere?
Can I use any available Android (Calyx, Lineage, Shift) or only some?
Any further tips from people using such a setup?

Since https://fosstodon.org/@linmob/111437486318142093 is not entirely unpopular: If you are wondering if I recommend this setup: I'm torn. Two batteries make the PinePhone Pro more useful, and getting once one gets used to the keyboard, it's nice to type on.
If you have a PinePhone Pro that's sitting in a drawer, go for it - if not, there are lots of micro laptops out there that may be better by having things like a backlit keyboard, a pointing device, or a slightly bigger, not 2:1 screen.

just announced on stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nEC3sVExAU). No info on SoC, shipping with Sailfish OS 5.

Now they're announcing some trustworthy 100% private, user-controlled AI thing - that's supposed to be helpful with everyday tasks. I am not hype on AI, but if the promises hold up, that's interesting.
