I've finally managed to get through the whole #Fedivision2024 playlist (72 songs, pant pant...). I was quite impressed with the quality, since I was expecting something more amateur-ish on average (like my crummy contribution).

Eventually, I took some notes and came up with a list of 11 #Fedivision tracks in particular that I liked more than the others, and so candidates for my three votes this week (I won't vote for myself).

20 years after the first themes came to me, I finally did it... My 27 minutes rock opera song on Cleopatra is now done! It's an appetizer to my upcoming "Musae" album, where it will be one of the tracks: in this EP I decided to split it in different parts for easier listening.

One of the most exciting moments of my entire life... I finally got to meet in person Kazuhiko Nishi, the creator of the MSX, the home computer that as a kid completely changed me and got me into programming and computers. I wouldn't be the person and professional I am today without him and what he worked on! #msxgoto40

PS: I spoke to him in Japanese (or tried to) and to be honest he didn't look very impressed 😂 But I was over the moon anyway just because I was there to do that!

Despite his very young age, Matteo Mancuso is one of the most promising (if not best) guitar players on the music scene. Waiting for his new album to come out (July!), he just released a single, and as a fun challenge he asked his fans to play a solo on it. I'm 1/1000000th the player he is, but I tried my best, and this is the result: I hope it didn't come out too bad 😂 #dropdchallenge

I recently started working on a plugin mechanism for @kiavc, my open source point and click adventure game engine. This blog post goes through what I did so far, showing some examples too. I also go in detail on my Kamailio World KIAVC+SIP+RealTimeText demo, which was indeed implemented using this mechanism, so if you're curious how that worked, you'll find that here. Took advantage of another national holiday here in Italy to add a plugin-based architecture to KIAVC, my #pointandclick #adventure game engine: the idea is to allow people to add functions and features not natively available in the core. Still very early stages, but it already allowed me to implement, e.g., a dumb rain particle system. Feedback welcome, especially if you have ideas on what makes sense as a plugin, and what should always be in the core instead! #gamedev

After a too long music hiatus (I'm lazy!), I found some energy to work on a new instrumental EP:

Heavily inspired by 70s/80s music, with several homages to bands/artists I love. The title is a bit of a pun: my axiom is guitars, and it has "axe" in the title (got it? 🪓 =🎸 😂)

All recorded using @pipewire's JACK shim, rather than native JACK, and @ardour 7.2 (both absolutely amazing!) +other FOSS as usual.
