@nixCraft las time a UK watchdog tried to put Microsoft in its place it was bullied by Microsoft and politicians to review its position (CMA during the Activision acquisition). Europe didnโt even care and just let Microsoft do its thing.
You see, #Eurovision was a shitshow this year because of the inclusion of a genocidal state in the contest, but I think we can say #Nemo did deserve his victory. Not only does his act sound amazing but the message behind it is powerful and of utmost necessity currently. https://youtu.be/0JqxpaJot2E
It gets better. It looks like the disqualification of the Dutch artist in Eurovision is because he repeatedly expressed he didnโt want to be filmed but a camera operator kept filming him anyway, which resulted in him making a โthreatening gestureโ towards her. There was never physical contactโฆ if only Joost was a supporter of a genocide, maybe he would have been allowed to stay. Well, fuck #eurovisionhttps://www.avrotros.nl/article/nederland-gediskwalificeerd-van-eurovisie-songfestival~527/
@EU_Commission Once again evidence that regulators either don't understand tech or let themselves lobby by the companies they should regulate. Chatbots and all the LLM crap should fall under the High Risk Category. These technologies have the capacity to influence and manipulate society by providing biased and inaccurate information. They are the AI models that currently pose the biggest danger to our society. Stronger regulation is needed, NOW, on these models before it is too late.
