In case you are concerned about picking a server will restrict you to a certain place, it won't. A couple months ago I did a poll asking people from where they were seeing my post, and of around 6.5k votes 96% were from outside the instance I'm at, gamedev. Show this to your friends that are worried about the onboarding process of picking a servers.

keep waiting for eGPUs to become more mainstream and easier to use, having something I could connect to a laptop and/or desktop etc sounds great. most times my laptop is good to work, but sometimes I might need a little more power and connecting an external device would fix that.
