I love this solution from @briar to the problem of how to provide an persistently online experience.
Conventionally, you require a server, which increases the barrier to entry dramatically and puts a hard limit to how decentralized a system can be.
This is a fantastic way of lowering the burden of running a "server", spectacularly well suited to a peer-to-peer app where holepunching is taken care of.
How would we do something similar for HTTP/#ActivityPub?
@joelving yes we can use another naming/routing algorithm that is not DNS. An overlay network could do that (tor, i2p, yggdrasil). That's how #MatrixP2P will work and it's already working with @delta

(L'ancien m'a servi 7 ans et ne peut plus être mis à jour même s'il fonctionne encore bien…)
J'ai donc ENFIN le filtre nommé "éclairage nocturne" qui passe tout l'écran avec un filtre oranger qui sauve mes yeux.
Et j'ai pris le filtre de confidentialité pour l'écran, j'adore !
Et Proton Calendar ne rame pas sur les Android à jour, enfin !
Bémol : si on ne veut pas utiliser le clavier Google, adieu la saisie gestuelle 😭
Et le Fairphone 4 est lourd et grand + la coque de protection glisse fort (en plus, j'ai pris la rouge mais en fait elle est rose ! 😒)… J'ai besoin de trouver une idée pour avoir une sorte de grip/un moyen de mieux le tenir en main sinon, il va pas faire long feu avec ma motricité pourrie… 🤔

Sur celui que j'ai récupéré il y a une sorte de bague qui a été collée. Ça fait qu'à chaque fois que tu saisis ton téléphone, tu passes ton doigt dedans... Ça limite grandement les risques je pense. Je connaissais pas : je pensais l'enlever mais finalement à l'usage, je vais la garder. Bonus : ça permet de poser le téléphone de façon inclinée pour le regarder sans le tenir.

I don’t understand the drama around this. Not like it’s removing other instances, or the ability to switch instances afterwards. It just gives an easier way in for people who don’t understand the instances concept.
It’s a good thing. Anything that helps onboarding is a good thing, and no, it doesn’t mean the developer has gone evil or wants to centralize things. 🙄🙄
I've followed #TwitterMigration in France and I think most of the times, people just don't know and choose their instance randomly/poorly only to understand the concept of instance later and move on 2 to 3 months later (sometimes moving a second/third time until the right instance).
The drama is based on the wrong assumption that people never move but it's not what we observe.
