While camping, I was sent to the ranger station to ask for a “left handed smoke shifter”. Fortunately for me, the ranger had no poker face and just laughed. I felt like a dumbass, but it was a long walk back to the campsite, so by the time I got there I was able to laugh with everyone else.

This is why I hate the downvote system. It’s way too easy to think UHH POST BAD and smack the down arrow like a trained monkey, and comparatively “difficult” to actually explain why you disagree… even though that explanation could help many other readers, including commenters like you who are willing to learn.

There are many interesting questions surrounding cultured meat, but I’m mostly concerned with two of them.

  1. Is it any good?
  2. Is it reasonably priced?

There are lots of thought provoking discussions to be had, and I’ll be happy to read them, but the practical issues that impact me directly are the ones I care most about.

All of us can do LOTS of things better than god. For starters, we’re visible. When someone asks us a question, we respond - and often in a clear, simple, unambiguous way, too. We can demonstrate our effect on the physical world. The list goes on.

Creepy and gross, although I do have to give Edwards a HEAVILY QUALIFIED compliment on his explanations. From a political perspective, they sound almost reasonable if you don’t think about them too much. That’s the work of an experienced politician/bullshit artist.

Still, no matter how well you do a creepy thing, it remains creepy.
