I remember a time people were saying LLMs were just another VC-driven hype train like Web3.

Do people still think that or is there now an understanding that a foundational shift in white collar work is underway? Workers are about to get more productive and certain jobs vanish.

@carnage4life How would you have hype without people buying into the hype? Everyone just posts "wow, chatgpt is so amazing and useful and totally not a glorified spambot" then nobody actually make any attempt to use it? Not quite sure what the argument here is.

I'm dying laughing at the thing where they asked Nikki Haley about the cause of the Civil War, and she did the standard thing republicans do, which is go out of their way not to mention slavery because they know that a bunch of their voters are closet racists who are extremely sensitive about being on the wrong side of history.

Then Trump's response was "I would say slavery is kind of the obvious answer, as opposed to like three paragraphs of bullshit" 💀​

Sometimes I feel like not only is my kindness taken for granted, but I'm also seen as not even a human with a life.

@hacks4pancakes I wonder if you could do something like a $20 Venmo deposit that only gets refunded if they show up or cancel within a reasonable timeframe. Worst thing about doing stuff for free is it always attracts people who then treat you like that is how much your time is worth :(

I'd be curious if there's any studies on how likely you are to get covid simply from passing through a crowded space. Totally anecdotal, but I travelled for most of covid, went through busy airports, conference venues, etc. I got covid 3 times, and every single time it was at a small intimate gathering. I was actually pretty shocked that I kept getting covid from things like small dinner gathering and not walking around indoor spaces filled with 10s of thousands of people.
