We had brief power outage and I was weirdly excited because I got to test out the V2L feature from our Ioniq5 EV 😎

💡 V2L: vehicle-to-load, it lets you draw electricity from the EV's battery, without needing to start the vehicle.

I bought the adapter a year ago but didn't have any reason to use it. Now that I know it works, I'm gonna keep it in the frunk for whatever emergency reasons.

I walk with a cane in airports and I'm contemplating getting new underseat spinner style luggage for our next trip so I can put my kid's backpack on it and not have my arm holding up as much weight and I was with my 2-wheeled one.

Before I get completely mired in review sites, anyone got luggage experience they'd be willing to share? I'd particularly love to hear from other travelers with mobility issues.

The zipper on my laptop bag broke.
I don't have the skills to fix it, so I wanted to get a new one.
All products I've seen so far only come in dark colors like black, gray. Very few of them come in brighter colors like pink or purple. When they do have it in the bright colors, they're clearly labeled as "for women", have less features, look more like handbags, and cost more (from $10-40$ more).

Writes PR that fulfills all that as well as docstrings which conform to PEP 257 (one blank line between summary and detailed description). I'm a Python core developer, after all.

Same client:
"That's an overkill. Change requested: remove blank lines in multiline docstrings."

Really missed seeing my fishes after being away from home for almost 2 weeks. I counted each one of them, and happy to report that they're doing fine. 😊 The baby fishes have grown bigger since last time I saw them, they're no longer blurry blob on camera.

At PyCon US a friend showed me his camera for his cat so he could watch his cat while away, so maybe next time I'll get the same nanny cam too.

I was feeling like I'd probably over-packed, but we've been in transit since Wednesday night, it's Friday morning and I'm in an airport hotel instead of my final destination and we still don't have a clear path to make it all the way there. Crew timeout, broken plane, hurricanes, car rental snafus. 😮‍💨

I've used probably 90% of what I packed and most of the surprise kid entertainment has been a hit. 🩵

Here's hoping we actually make it to his grandparents today, though!

I decided to be #vegan for the week of #PyConUS 2024. I put little effort into this endeavor but I did think about it during each meal.

I'd like to share how it went, but first I'll note why I did this.

Since early 2020, I've been attempting to gradually reducing the animal suffering I cause (as much as I'm individually able to).

I focused one-by-one on small habit changes that had large impacts (e.g. I completely cut out chicken first). After ~2 years of this, I was #vegetarian.

Kinda confused 😵 not sure if I'm still going home tonight?? As soon as I touched down at YYZ, I got multiple flight cancelled/delayed email notifications (and SMS, and Mobile app notifications).

Sitting it all out while I'm snacking at Maple Leaf Lounge, I'll read it all later once they finalize it. I'm sure it will all work out. My travel insurance will cover whatever I need, so no worries.
