I wear too many hats. I love theatre, data, science, and connecting people. Let's make a sustainable future that isn't built on the assumptions of the past.

He/him. I live in Ōtautahi, Aotearoa.

My posts reflect no opinion but my own.

When I share other people's posts, it's an interesting perspective worth reflecting on, but I don't necessarily agree.

Some serious potential creeping up towards Aotearoa. We're busy for a few hours but hoping to go hunting afterwards.

Great, Aotearoa's most attractive employer is a flagrant climate vandal. https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/05/30/the-countrys-most-attractive-workplace-revealed/

What a King's Birthday weekend! (1/10)

I've been enjoying looking through everyone's photos from last night (on various platforms). I couldn't be bothered going out, but I reckon I've got a good chance of catching one on Monday night and had already been planning to go out then.

It's been a long day spent with my Nana at the hospital after she had a fall. makes everything harder 😞

Can anyone recommend a small-to-medium that hasn't permanently limited federation with mastodon.social and journa.host? I'm gay and based in Aotearoa, but mainly I'm interested in conversations about the big issues of our age, such as , , and , as well as staying abreast of the news (both global and local). I find the long-term blocks on and are limiting my ability to navigate threads and discover interesting perspectives and analysis.

Gosh this is an interesting bit of investigative journalism to challenge my own assumptions about what's going on with the District Council mayor, councillors, and chief executive. https://www.newsroom.co.nz/gore-allegations-pre-date-new-mayor

The contradiction of wanting to be but having too much social anxiety to ask if something at a restaurant has dairy in it.

We're open for business! We still have some gorgeous blazers and heaps of amazing shoes, so let's make this January amazing! 💖

Yesterday's theft was pretty heartbreaking, but we're gonna bounce back stronger than ever. We're closing in early February, but we'll fight like hell to open again later this year!

It would lift our hearts to welcome you through our doors this week. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We bought a white mechanical keyboard with rainbow lights and I'm in love! We also bought a mismatched gaming mouse which is kinda cool.

No no no, we don't need even more convoluted alternatives to a capital gains ! Essentially, this proposal aims to slightly reduce the spending power of the ultra wealthy at the shops. I don't see it changing the fundamental, growing imbalance between those who have lots of assets and those who don't. https://i.stuff.co.nz/business/opinion-analysis/131919854/why-raising-gst-could-be-the-easiest-way-to-make-the-rich-pay-more-tax

Calling all my friends who wish they could live in the city centre but can't afford to! Consider putting in a submission in support of the council's proposal to increase height limits – due by Friday 12 May. I worry that submissions will be dominated by wealthier people who can already afford to live in their suburb of choice.

The quick option is to submit using Generation Zero's tool at https://www.generationzero.org/ccc_pc14 (there's also lots of useful information to consider if you want to write your own submission).

The longer option is to read the information at https://ccc.govt.nz/the-council/haveyoursay/show/531 and write your own submission (consider also submitting on the heritage proposal at https://ccc.govt.nz/the-council/haveyoursay/show/532).

(Post updated to reflect that the deadline was this morning extended to Friday 12 May: https://newsline.ccc.govt.nz/news/story/extra-time-for-plan-changes-consultation)

Combing through to delete, archive, and/or put photos in albums is painful. It's probably beyond time I degooglefied my data into decentralised, user-empowering, privacy-friendly alternatives.
