I love the form factor of my little iPhone 12 Mini …but I am so ready for a phone that doesn’t constantly overheat and run out of batteries like 7 times a day

@knizer Yeah I think the issue is that a larger phone allows for a larger battery, but doesn't actually use that much more power. So a Pro Max should last much longer. Still, probably worth attempting some clean up, to make the next few months more livable.

One thing Mastodon (or a fork) could do to win some users over from Bluesky, is support taking your account private. It's wild that X and Threads are the only big post-Twitter microblogging platforms that allow this.

@jdp23 Again though, it seems like if an instance issued "mass deletion" commands to untrusted/unsupported instances (for any recent posts - I assume instances don't generally cache everything indefinitely?), and issued a more nuanced instruction to trusted instances that supported the procedure, it would be effectively a "shields up" move, right? And then, it could "restore" those posts later. I assume I'm missing something just trying to figure out what it is!
