@OrionKidder If you're in Victoria this year, I'd like to meet up(outdoors) for discussions & brainstorming for progressive ideas to implement for creating a more mutually supportive society.
@OrionKidder I've been on an the ground activist up til 2 yrs ago. Experienced a lot of cop assaults & massive abuses of govt & cops powers. I hate them all now.
@OrionKidder The last time I did a solo lockdown was 2 yrs ago. I joined in with #WetsuwetenSolidarity. Chained myself to front doors of #RBC in downtown #VictoriaBC & shut it down for 4 hours. They sent over 20 cops to deal with me & I mocked them for coming out for just me & told them to call down more of their cop pals & we can have a proper street party. They were boggled by my response to their threats of arrest. I told them to quit their jobs. 2 did quit their jobs, after.
@OrionKidder I don't chain myself to excavators or hang myself off huge bridges anymore because I've got progressive physical disabilities & they've weakened me, physically over the years. I do a lot of work to help more physically capable activists on high risk frontlines now.
@OrionKidder I understand & that's also why I appreciate volunteer activists who do other non-arrestable work. It takes many different people, doing many different actions to create necessary changes. Not everyone can frontline. My at home work builds aren't illegal so I'm good ✌️
REMINDER: Fediverse is global. It is NOT limited to US. Please get over your American exceptionalism shit. It's not helping you or the US. In fact, it only reinforces global communities' thoughts about Americans' arrogance & not caring about others, outside of their country.
Please refrain from US exceptionalism attitudes, if you're truly interested in doing serious decolonialism work - it's counterintuitive.
@draftexcluder I'm in BC, Canada & most politicians (especially provincial & federal) are scared to meet/talk with their own constituency. Some of them also prefer to call cops on us, when we do peaceful protests outside their offices because they keep ignoring & running away from citizens they're paid & supposed to represent.
@draftexcluder I'm wondering if NZ politicians are as open to meeting & talking with their Indigenous constituency because most natives I've communicated with, from NZ, tell me about being ignored a lot.
@draftexcluder Are you Indigenous or a POC?
I ask that because my Indigenous & POC contacts in NZ live in both rural & urban places. They are almost all ignored by many politicians because they want to talk about systematic racism & related issues.
@draftexcluder That may be why you can access politicians better than my Indigenous & POC contacts in NZ who are visibly not white & are open about the issues they want to discuss with their government representatives. Racism screws up a lot of progress, globally.
@draftexcluder There's been more than one time I got true allies to arrange meetings with politicians for me, using their born white privileged or white passing privileged identity. I show up, instead of them, after they lock meeting dates/times. It's shitty we gotta play dirty - just to try to get a foot in door to talk to our own political representatives that our tax monies fund.
@alexisbushnell put some non alcoholic beer(cheaper but as effective) in bottles with a hole cut out partway up from bottom & place by bases of your potato plants.
The elite have kept the world from progressing to hold on to their wealth. They’ve kept us all apart with their propaganda and gaslighting and stemmed the type of cooperative creativity that could have solved many of our problems a long time ago.
@StillIRise1963 If you've ever studied colonialism, none of this is shocking. They're still using the same divide & conquer tactics but modernized delivery & communications/PR methods. Still same old shit remains, if you dig into the current poop piles.
