It hadn't occurred to me that Russia might have blown the dam just to create a further refugee crisis in Europe. There are no depths to which they won't sink.

Edit: I know that there are many reasons why they would have blown the dam. All of them bad, many of them not involving much deep thinking beyond the destruction even at their own cost.

I'll never understand the “stand your ground” laws except through the lens of racism. You know what makes me feel threatened--seeing people walking around displaying weapons. I don't know what they intend, what training they've had, or the status of their mental health. So, can we immediately attack anyone open-carrying because we feel threatened and unsafe?

The #Republic arrests, next stage:

Monday (last) night a Chief Inspector from the Met & 2 other officers visited Graham Smith, who was arrested but not charged during the #Coronation, to 'apologise' for the six arrests of Republic/Anti-monarchy demonstrators.

Smith: 'I said, for the record, I won’t accept the apology. We have a lot of questions to answer & we will be taking action'!

The Met have also now acknowledged Republic had been working with them so the protests could go ahead.

The one Mastodon feature I would like to see, more than the next 3 or 4 put together, would be: Don’t show me stuff I’ve already seen!

Or at least do it less. If something is getting boosted a lot, maybe a maximum of once a day tell me that it got 38 more boosts, including 11 of my follows. Even better, show it just once only.
