@thetyee This completely ignores the fact that most of the city is restricted to detached single family houses, the most expensive form of development of all. It's weird to praise the gentle density of False Creek without acknowledging that it's illegal in the majority of the city

@mpjgregoire The assertion that immigrants are the cause of the housing crisis seems dubious. If you're going to have an entire article about how immigration is too high, then I'm going to need some evidence beyond number of immigrants.

@thetyee I appreciate some solid details on this topic. I rent for about $1450 a month, and according to listings on my landlord's website, the last apartment rented in my building went for (IIRC) $2250. Which begs the question: are they losing money on housing me? Or are they making a killing off the new tenants?
