@mcc@whitequark direnv can manage it's own python environment. If you want more control over version, asdf or mise allows a spec file for interpreter versions.

@vwbusguy I do remember that. I think overall that 'playing for time' is an almost unbeatable tactic for the backers of AI, and that nobody can even get answers on the training data is one of the more serious impedances in taking anything through the courts.
It's fascinating how none of the Israeli responses deny anything in the application for warrants--they just say it's somehow unfair to them and personally attack the prosecutor.
Note: My Python version/packaging problems from earlier actually got worse after my last post on the subject, I just decided to stop posting updates because it was making me too sad
@mcc Ubuntu has completely given up on python packaging so they hobbled pip and made a few apt packages.

I have a virus on my windows install, every now and then it pops up and windows anti virus recognises it, but only fights it off until the next attack. Process is called MoIso but search is crap so I gave up looking. #CyberSecurity
