Who in the Libertarian party thought it would be a good idea to even entertain the thought putting Trump on their stage? And who in the Trump campaign also thought it was a good idea?
@derickr I like rating those apps -1 star from how I actually feel about it, and each additional time I see that popup after I rate the first time lowers their rating.
@vasta This hit in a weird way for me. My organization uses Slack, but it's always felt to me like they're doing it wrong. Most of our channels are private, so I can't find them without being invited. I frequently ask if they're discussing nuclear codes when someone invites me to a private channel. But beyond that, most conversation happens in threads (which don't mark a channel as unread) or in DMs (which again, is private).
I own the domains neighbors.social and neighbrs.social, but have yet to figure out what to do with them. I think I was originally thinking of some sort of Fediverse type thing, but now I just have no clue.
Taking suggestions if you got any, no promises I'll actually be able to follow through with them though
@hunter Geo-tagged pictures of your neighbors' lawn gnomes. Then steal them and take them on vacation, taking pictures at every stop. Return them with an awesome picture book of their travels.
It sucks when your conference or event only uses Twitter/X to post updates/details, and I can’t view the posts without logging in, but I do not have a Twitter account.
@ramsey I still squat on my Xitter (pronounced Shitter) account to keep anyone from using my name. I also assume people still on there are either Nazis or okay with Nazis and judge them appropriately. Yes, there is still good journalism being done there. No, I'm not going to engage with that quality journalism if it means supporting Nazis.
@ramsey@tallship He's not "allowing" free speech. Free speech comes with consequences. You can't get banned from Xitter for being anti-Semitic, you get rewarded. You can't get banned from Xitter for being a Fascist, you get retweeted by Elmo. He's promoting the worst humans have to offer, and I hope he takes them all to Mars with him.
Lesson for potential and current speakers — my talk today didn’t go over as well as I wanted. The audience had different expectations and feedback was helpful. This happens to every speaker at one time or another. #phptek#phptek24
Who will I see at #PHPTek next week? I’m giving a keynote on Thursday, and I’m super nervous. It’s only the second keynote I’ve ever given, and the first one was over 10 years ago. 😬😰 #PHP
@awoodsnet I would have loved to attend both, but some jerk is speaking at the same time as your first one, and I gotta attend that one. Looking forward to the dotfiles talk though!
I can now run for 30 minutes without a walking break, and I run 3x a week.
I do strength training 3-4x a week, and have gone from not being able to lift myself at all on the pull up bar with the strongest resistance band, to doing a full pull up with that band - I've moved on to the next band now.
I can lift and carry all of my kids, two at a time. I can give my kids piggy back rides. I can roller skate for 2 hours with my daughter.
