The neighborhood suddenly became a popular spot about two years ago, apparently after a photo taken in a particular angle showing Mount Fuji in the background of a local convenience store, became a social media sensation.
Not a weeb but I think that’s most places if you don’t look or speak like them. I’m American but I’m brown, west coast, bigger cities there’s enough brown people I don’t stand out. Down south, rural small towns, most of Europe those reactions and percentages sound about right.
I know they could be I’m just not sure they’re that competent. These bots often aren’t single user or just copy paste either, there’s usually some effort to mix it up or change wording slightly. Reddits internal search function is infamously shit but they “know” which users are unlabeled bots with some effort put behind them?

They’re talking like people still have more money left from covid times. Employed but not commuting, unemployed but getting a livable check, no student loan payments, etc meant a lot of people saved a lot(relatively speaking) when they usually wouldn’t have been able to. So they still have enough where they’re able to be spending on “luxury”.
There is a mix both of the people above and the people who for one reason or another aren’t flush with cash but everyone has to spend on necessities which have increased in price. As long as there’s no price regulation and what are effective monopolies in many necessities the situation won’t improve. The fed control of interest rates isn’t likely to save us from this situation imo.
I know that DNA encodes proteins. Truthfully, everything besides that (including ‘what are proteins’) mostly wooshes over my head, but that’s not relevant because whenever I search this question I never even find it addressed anywhere....
No, and no. My PhD thesis was on gene delivery. We’re barely getting into the simplest modifications for disease treatment. Multigene stuff, and spatiotemporal control is still a ways off.
I never went as far as to defend Gwyneth Paltrow, but after her Hot Ones appearance I created a post (which I will link in the comments) where I suggested that she’s done no more harm than male grifters and that the dislike of her as a person was primarily due to misogyny. That’s before I learned about her promotion of these...
Things are very people specific as to what gets through some Journals are known to have lax review but high publication costs. These “predatory” journals and other nepotism stuff has been an issue for a while. The scientific community wants to tackle these issues but it’s been hard to make any real progress. Covid politics and now AI have really not helped.
It’s not an excuse, incels aren’t born incels. Saying they are responsible for their actions and that they are at least in part a product of their environment is not mutually exclusive. Understanding how they are made gives perspective on how to stop more, it doesn’t absolve them of whatever they do.
