phdepressed,

Things are very people specific as to what gets through some Journals are known to have lax review but high publication costs. These “predatory” journals and other nepotism stuff has been an issue for a while. The scientific community wants to tackle these issues but it’s been hard to make any real progress. Covid politics and now AI have really not helped.

phdepressed,

They tell you an email because many people have more than one.

phdepressed,

Wizards are like specifically not full strength maiar. They were limited in order to not do too much collateral damage.

phdepressed,

I mean even without regional adjustment it goes up Jan1 and every 3y thereafter.

phdepressed,

Most dogs are fine actually. A small seemingly random percentage go into kidney failure so it’s easier and more humane to just not take a chance.

In a similar vein as your dogs but in Asian countries the dogs also eat/get fed leftovers which include plenty of spices, which are also stated online as problematic for dogs.

phdepressed,

60-40 so at a +20% as well. So a pretty significant one as well. Also the first time the Pennsylvania DNC endorsed her in the primary…

phdepressed,

There’s an identical voyager here on earth built same as the launched one that they use for that purpose. They may also have simulations now, but doubtful hardware was capable enough when voyager 1 launched in 1977. This is three years before Tim Paterson and 86-DOS 0.10, and ten years before MS-DOS 3.31. Joe Biden was 35 and in his first term as Senator.

phdepressed,

It’s related because the closure of public pools meant children without access to private pools at a country club or neighborhood would not be able to learn. This was concurrent with redlining and suburb development that prohibited black people from buying homes in places that were likely to have private pools and why inner-city areas remain predominantly black.

Instagram Advertises Nonconsensual AI Nude Apps (www.404media.co)

Instagram is profiting from several ads that invite people to create nonconsensual nude images with AI image generation apps, once again showing that some of the most harmful applications of AI tools are not hidden on the dark corners of the internet, but are actively promoted to users by social media companies unable or...

phdepressed,

Louis CK has also sexually harassed a number of women( jerking off in front of unwilling viewers)…

phdepressed,

AHA isn’t government. Government has also been fooled/bribed before but many regulatory agencies have recs and regulations on most of the things you mention. They just don’t have any “bite” to enforce, like the EPA being disallowed from regulating many waterway by the conservative SCOTUS.

phdepressed,

UCYN-A is the organism. They’re calling it the “nitroplast”.

phdepressed, (edited )

Yes. It is very exciting and cool. It already has mitochondria so it’s actually a double endosymbiont if it gets confirmed by others.

Not in the paper data at least. It does have plastids which I had to look up (been a while since gen bio). Plastids are similar to chloroplasts. So triple endosymbiont actually. Again if data holds to further scrutiny.

phdepressed,

You are correct about the definitions but I’d imagine chloroplasts have some relatively standard assays which would have been tried, though this isn’t really my area of expertise.

phdepressed,

Cause the numbers aren’t real, just like Tesla. Inflated due to the leaders’ cult (and in this case possible “actors”)not for any business reason.

phdepressed,

Africa actually liked Bush2 because he sent a lot of foreign aid there during his tenure. Helped a lot with their AIDs pandemic at the time.

phdepressed,

The real worst-case that you don’t hear in media is turning Earth into a situation similar to Venus. At that point there’s a real small chance of even extremophiles much less anything complex. Of course the planet will still rotate and continue orbiting the sun but earth-based life would probably only exist in some of our space junk like the poop bags Apollo left on the moon.

phdepressed,

Unfortunately, not super relevant. The earth->Venus scenario is about a positive feedback loop. So stopping our emissions after that tipping point doesn’t help.

phdepressed,

Now you have Charles is that really better?

phdepressed,

Who’s next? The lettuce? I’ll take the lettuce and UK transition to a no-monarch government before it wilts too much.
