But, Republicans would have you believe “fair is fair.” Trump got impeached, so Biden should get impeached. Trump got kicked off the ballot, so Biden should get kicked off the ballot. This has nothing to do with pesky things like details and rule of law, it’s just about my side vs your side, unless my side is winning, then I’ll take the law into consideration again.
ESOP is a thing… the question is who gets to make decisions. Is the board run by employees? I used to work for an ESOP, but the scheme was little more than a way for the founders to cash out on their investment by saddling the company with the debt to buy itself… all while still retaining control of the board. Despite being employee-owned, employees had no decision making power.
If you’ve ever been on public transit, you know it’s not really just about the fare dodgers. It’s also about having someone, anyone, with authority regularly check up on things to crack down on the crazy shit happening that will discourage average riders from using the system — people blaring music, dance crews putting on impromptu shows on your train car, junkies overdosing in the corner, some guy making the train platform his permanent home, people pissing, shitting and vomiting in the wrong locations, influencers shooting their latest TikTok.
I’m all for free public transit, but I’d still want to see a staff presence on board telling people that don’t know how to behave in public to cut it the fuck out.
We already learned the cause, the shooter had a traumatic brain injury from serving as a weapons instructor in the military where he was subjected to routine explosive forces from firing grenade launchers inches from his brain. This is not controversial, there was a brain scan conducted that gave this evidence.
It follows a long line of brain injury sufferers committing crimes and acting erratically. This includes OJ Simpson and Aaron Hernandez. It is only a matter of time before the military can’t recruit anyone because of the likelihood of such an injury. The NFL is also finished. If I could short the NFL for the next 20 years, I would make that bet. Same with UFC.

do the math before you get one. In my area it’ll double or triple my electric bill due to the extremely high price of electricity. I would need to add a lot of insulation to my home to make it worth it. Also, installing solar would be a wiser first step. Of course, even then, with the installation costs, it will take 20-30 years to really see a savings.
Edit: downvote all you want, it doesn’t change the math. I spent 6 months studying heat pumps for my situation, sorry it doesn’t live up to whatever eco-hype you’re huffing. The real issue is mismanaged utility companies with a legally protected monopoly. All I’m suggesting is you learn about your situation before you jump in blind, but apparently that is too offensive of a suggestion for the Lemmy hive mind. If you’re going to downvote, maybe give a counter argument, I’ll give you a math equation in response.
"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in action in the two years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion....
What’s with the commentary? I don’t think Zelensky is throwing away the lives of his people. The Ukrainians are fighting for survival. If anyone is throwing away lives, it’s definitely the Russians.
I need to start a business selling rectangular shaped covers for these displays. I’ll even make one that serves as a holder for an iPad, so you can substitute your own screen.
I don’t see how the AI assistant won’t eventually just end up on the smartphone. And, given that it’s not always appropriate to talk out loud to your phone, being able to use it with a screen makes it the perfect device for it.
Do doctors notes actually comment on the nature of the medical issue? Who the fuck really asks for doctors notes, no one has ever asked me for one. It seems so petty.
