Warning to all Brave Browser Users

Blocking variations.brave.com which is used for A/B testing could potentially break Brave's functionalities. For me did Brave's "forgetful browsing" feature broke which seems to be disabled by default if you block this domain.

possiblylinux127,

Its better than Chrome, Edge, and any other proprietary spyware browser

possiblylinux127,

It falls in the proprietary category

possiblylinux127,

True but don’t you think brave is better than chrome?

possiblylinux127,

I think you mean 3rd degree burns compared to second degree burns but I get what you are saying

possiblylinux127,

Its still not Foss. Unless its under a free software license its a hard no for me.

At least its not chrome though

possiblylinux127,

True but its basicly the same as 3rd degree burn. You will basicly never see it in the field

Say (an encrypted) hello to a more private internet.

https://blog.mozilla.org/en/products/firefox/encrypted-hello/

Nothing big, but kinda interesting. I'm excited to see how this will go 👀

@privacy

possiblylinux127,

Does anyone know how to set this up on a ngnix proxy?

Tried the @Vivaldi browser. A good example of when "the more the better" doesn't work. Sure it is an IMHO.

Still very interesting. Having your emails and calendars integrated into a browser is a good alternative when OS-built-in tools for this are crap.

Now back to @firefox.

possiblylinux127,

Why did you include so many hash tags

Ya puedes activar la traducción directa desde @firefox:

possiblylinux127,

I don’t speak your language

possiblylinux127,

I don’t use mastodon. Can you please post in English please? This is a English speaking lemmy instance

Plasma developer David Edmundson demonstrates how a desktop using Wayland, Qt6 and KWin can recover from a catastrophic crash as if nothing had happened.

possiblylinux127,

I can’t wait until this makes it to gnome

Looks like the fix to add visual effects support in Google Meet for Firefox is now being rolled out

See comment on - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1703668#c70

@firefox

possiblylinux127,

I personally use jitsi for meetings. It works great and is way more private

Best Linux Distro Privacy/Usability for a mid level user

What do you think is the best linux distro for a user who wants to migrate from windows in terms of privacy, usability and respect for the FOSS spirit?

I'm thinking to give a chance to https://elementary.io

possiblylinux127,

You serious?

possiblylinux127,

I need photo evidence. You also should post it on !Linuxmasterrace
