rckclmbr,

Broke mine last year, took a surgery and 6 months of physical therapy to get close to normal. I also couldn’t sleep for a month, every little movement would hurt. Broke it by wrecking on my bike

I owe a debt of gratitude to Gene and the entire crew. I was doubting my religion, and felt like I was losing my moral compass in the process. I was asking myself what type of person I wanted to be. The values that TNG showed me helped me in the 10 years since — being open to other cultures and their beliefs (Half a Life), to hold truth above others, and nothing can break that (Chain of Command), and to live my life more open, honestly, and fully (Inner Light)

I condemn false prophets, I condemn the effort to take away the power of rational decision, to drain people of their free will–and a hell of a lot of money in the bargain. Religions vary in their degree of idiocy, but I reject them all. For most people, religion is nothing more than a substitute for a malfunctioning brain. -Gene Roddenberry

Mess with the best, die like the rest

rckclmbr,

Oh shit, it was deleted by a moderator! “Mess with the best, die like the rest” is a quote from the movie “Hackers”, and ZeroCool was the hackers name in the movie. It also is OPs username. I thought the quote was relevant to the post as well

rckclmbr,

It’s a quote from the movie “Hackers”

rckclmbr,

The idea that after 30 years that movie is still awesome

Also that the killer messed with the best (those 8 people killed) so he died like the rest (of other mass killers)

It’s a double entendres

rckclmbr,

Basically Stealth IRL.

BTW, fucking coolest, most underrated movie ever IMO

rckclmbr,

My dad is 75 and rides an ebike. He wrecked a few months back going about 20mph into a costco parking lot. He strained a groin muscle pretty bad. But he healed up and was fine 1-2 months later, and you know why? Because he wasn’t a lazy fat ass his whole life.

rckclmbr,

I’ve been a programmer 20 years and the bay area for 10, worked both startups and FANG, and that show nailed my damn life. Like, right on target. The subtle plot lines were completely on point. The blatant jokes were too real

Not a fan of BBT though

rckclmbr,

About the second coming:

The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

It’s low key why a lot if people don’t want to do anything about it, they see it as the second coming of Christ

Biden Condemns Trump as Dire Threat to Democracy in a Blistering Speech (www.nytimes.com)

President Biden on Friday delivered a ferocious condemnation of Donald J. Trump, his likely 2024 opponent, warning in searing language that the former president had directed an insurrection and would aim to undo the nation’s bedrock democracy if he returned to power....

rckclmbr,

Nobody is saying Biden is great, I agree we could do better. So stop with the whataboutism. If it weren’t against Trump, there might be more tradeoffs to talk about. But right now it’s pretty much “anyone but Trump”

rckclmbr,

Whataboutism isn’t a buzzword, it’s a logical fallacy. Its exactly what you are saying, “what about Biden though!” while completely ignoring the point being discussed, which is that we want an alternative to trump

rckclmbr,

The what safe? No idea what you’re talking about

It Will Be an Election Unlike Any We’ve Lived Through. Are the Democrats Prepared? (newrepublic.com)

The animating concept behind the Trump campaign will be chaos. This is what history shows us fascists do when given the chance to participate in democratic political campaigns: They create chaos. They do it because chaos works to their advantage. They revel in it, because they can see how profoundly chaos unnerves...

rckclmbr,

Biden is safe, and honestly the best frontrunner we have.

rckclmbr,

What did you upgrade to? How are you liking it?

rckclmbr,

Bay Area pizza is great if you want to spend $45 on a pizza

rckclmbr,

But that one doesn’t have an anti-skip system

rckclmbr,

Like I watched the Musical episode in Strange New Worlds, and really liked it. It was strange but fresh. I laughed out loud at the Klingon part. But then I got online and it was just hate. So stupid. And I’m a HUGE tng fan

rckclmbr,

Lol right, every time I see all these macho guys on camera and in the press, I remember the kids in drama club in highschool. These are those kids grown up

rckclmbr,

I could barely remember too, then I took an arrow to the knee!

rckclmbr,

Holy shit that takes me back

rckclmbr,

That’s the idea. Helps you not become a dopamine addicted mess.

rckclmbr,

Not sure why you are downvoted. Some countries even use them during testing times so students don’t cheat or get distracted or whatever when taking tests. I’m not even kidding

rckclmbr,

I actually like the new mickey tbh. I would describe it as steamboat mickey mixed with teen titans.
