Prepparing materials for @opengeohub 2023 and just added this to my slides. It's been there for over a year but still find the automatic handling of spherical geometry in {sf} amazing. If you're always transforming from geographic projection (e.g. EPSG:4326) to projected (e.g. EPSG:27700 in the UK) and new to #rstats this will blow your mind 🤯 #rspatial

Playing with network simplification methods... Visvalingam algorithm way more effective, but seems unable to merge parallel lines on more complex networks. Any ideas on how to do this? A short thread with links... First-up: Visvalingam works well for simple example!
