Anyone else just... not particularly moved by travel? I don't necessarily dislike travel, but keeping a garden and a library is my preference 99% of the time. I find most travel stressful and disruptive, and I mostly do it to support books or see family.

@ZachWeinersmith It’s always too much. If they ever perfect portal technology, I would love to stroll through a Parisian park, or get dinner at an Italian bistro. But then I want to take a nap in my bed. I don’t want to spend days somewhere else and the hassles and expense of getting there.

I recently “acquired” a collection of golden age Looney Tunes and I still hold them as the peak of the art form. Even as a child I disliked other, newer cartoons for looking cheap and lazy in comparison. I’m also rediscovering characters I’d forgotten like the Three Bears. Holy crap the dysfunction is so terrible and hilarious.

I'm beginning to think the GOP not only harbors but attracts unethical people.

Their strict, authoritarian, punitive, nuanceless, and incurious attitudes seem to mesh well with the psyche of someone who perceives a flaw in themselves, deeply judges themselves for it, and is incapable of honest and kind self-reflection. Rather than work through it, they stuff it down, deny it, and intensely hate themselves for it. This unkind self-attitude extends outward to others.
