Starting the afternoon off with a margarita at La Casa, the oldest consecutively operating Mexican restaurant in Sonoma County. After I will check out the Cinco de Mayo festival on the Sonoma Plaza and eat as much food as I possibly can. I'll share pics.

Frybread pop-up is in effect now until they sell out at Cloverdale Nursery! Indian tacos ($12) and plain frybread ($6) is available. These fine folks drove down from Lake County to do this event so come by!! And then shop at the nursery.

Pro-tip: get to Hudson Green & Goods at the Oxbow Market in #napa as early as possible and you can get day old Model Bakery breads and sometimes the famous English muffins. This fancy wheat bread was only $3!! 😁 Sometimes I can get six English muffins for $6.

There are still some baguettes in the sale bin as of now, Saturday 4/6/24. Also lots of organic veggies, potatoes, citrus and other goodies.

Yesterday, March 31, was not only Easter Sunday, but also Cesar Chavez Day. It is a state holiday in California and today, Monday, April 1, public schools and state government agencies are closed to celebrate and reflect on the life of the activist and labor leader.

I ask you to reflect on the life and work of Chavez, his friend and fellow national treasure Dolores Huertas, the United Farmworkers of America, and the activists fighting everyday to ensure the individuals who work in the fields – from the Central Valley to Sonoma County's famed vineyards - have the labor rights they deserve.

Thank you to those who continue Chavez's legacy today and to those who work long hours to ensure we have fresh produce, fruit, meats and other products to feed our families.
