@scribblans@fedia.social

Doodling about aimlessly on the internet for a lark, adding very little of value to anyone as I go.

Would rather be out walking on a clifftop with my dog. Probably am.
From #Cornwall, near England.

Anything else?

Hmm...
Hats.
Hats are nice.

I did as blog thing. It's a list of the terms under which you read the blog. You have to read the blog to read the terms. That's how it works.

Good morning, on the annually synchronous occasion of the and . The 25th has started off gloriously in my part of the world, but the forecast shows it will be useful to have a towel (as always) for later.

Oh, just saw David Wilkie died... another wet Briton checking out, but he'll be missed.

Probably some get so many bullfinches on their feeders that it's not that exciting, but it is a rare privilege for us to see them here.

I get excited by seeing red kites here, like I did yesterday, but when we go up to the FIL's in mid-Wales, it is hard NOT to see them.

Another snap of the aquilegia hordes in the meadow area. As you can see, photo-bombed by a bumble bee which seem to love these flowers, which I'm very happy about - this is meant to be a welcoming place for all the bugs and beasties first.

Just realised, so I have to do the obligatory 'reached number of followers that is significant only by the fact that the two last numbers are zeroes' post.

I shall do whatever you are meant to do to celebrate this fact.

Yay. 🎉. Or something.

A mainly mushroom based noodle soup for my dinner (shiitake... the two i's is important in the name I would guess). Always feel virtuous after having a hot and spicy but nutritious noodle soup.

We get a veg box from Riverford every week, the contents of which vary and make it so you try to find and/or invent something new to cook from what you got in the box, rather than going out to shop for the same stuff you like all the time. It works economically too as our supermarket shop is normally just non-food items and staples.

@scribblans@fedia.social avatar

Ah, that's a shame. I used markdown to make the word Riverford a link in the above post, which is supported in my home instance (and I guess other Misskey forks) and shows up as expected, but I see it doesn't show as being a link in my Mastodon account.
Perhaps other Mastodon instances can handle it? If not, I'll go back to the old-fashioned way.

Afternoon! Been too busy to tweet meeting up with my auntie, uncle and cousin who are in west Wales on holiday. Not seen them in person for over a decade! Tired from peopling now. How’s everyone’s day going? The sun has just come out here

scribblans,
@scribblans@fedia.social avatar

@purplepadma Just back from a walk in the woods, successfully not getting rained on. It's cloudy, breezy, and not really warm enough for May. I resorted to wearing my fingerless mitts it was that nippy still.

scribblans,
@scribblans@fedia.social avatar

@purplepadma Bad luck. The best cure for a soggy chip experience is to have tea and cake indoors somewhere next to 'make up for it'.;)

Good morning. Having completed 'work' for the day already, I think I'll stay here a while, surfing aimlessly while watching the action on the bird feeder station, listening to the rhythmic thunking and watching the patterns of the rain streaming in mini-river systems down the office window.

@snaptophobic That'll do nicely Ma'am.

@snaptophobic You may rest now. The funny shade of red you went was a masterful addition. Was the collapse at the end part of the routine?

@snaptophobic The cat probably saw its chance and took it. Keep an eye on it, if it hasn't killed you this time, it'll try again.

Can anyone remind me what I'm meant to do when there is sunshine?

A new Race Across the World started on BBC1 last night. Mrs S is away, so I didn't have to watch it, but she loves it, despite me pointing out that it's essentially watching people catch buses, trains and ferrys, and then sitting in seats on them, for 9 hours.

Morning, having a bit of a nightmare with this chest infection thingy. It seemed to get better over Sun/Mon/Tues, started a tickle through yesterday, then came back with a vengeance last night.
In to see doc later, need to get this thing cleared. Done a Covid test, still negative on that - it would be just my luck to pick it up from going to the doctors with this thing though... masking up in the waiting room is the best I can do.

Good Friday, the weirdest Bank Holiday, where my bins were collected this morning as usual, and most shops are open, but Sunday hours, but the plumbers and electricians claim it's a holiday so don't work, and it's all a bit half-hearted all round, but the Garden Centres will be PACKED, despite it having been utterly POLAR conditions all week.

This blog thing is so insignificant, it's almost a waste to flag it up here. But the precedent has been set, so I must.

As usual, the names list of the contestants leaves me shrugging with a 'Who?' expression (blame my poor modern cultural knowledge), but I'm sure it won't take long to love them all for various reasons.
