@sengi_app How do I log into multiple accounts at the same time? If I click on the + all it does is ask to be allowed access to the existing logged-in account. What's the trick to logging in additional accounts?

Doing some testing of a language detection lib to automatically detect the language used, and switch the language selector accordingly.

I have an issue with ATM: the "media-viewer" element shows below the columns, meaning that I can't see/interact with media.
The same happens with the "meatball/falafel" menu on posts (to copy link, etc).

When I check the CSS, though, their z-index is supposed to be 9999999, so I'm not sure what's going on... anyone has had a similar problem? I'm using 116 but this has happened from time to time in older versions (though not that often)

@nizarus si on peux mais รงa demande un peu de gymnastique: quand on se loggue une seconde fois, et qu'un compte est dรฉjร  logguรฉ, il faut se dรฉlogguer dudit compte.
En gรฉnรฉral il est alors nรฉcessaire de redรฉmarrer sengi car la redirection ne fonctionne pas bien.
Lors de la prochaine tentative, on peux alors fournir l'autre compte.

C'est malheureusement un problรจme avec mastodon, je ne peux pas le rรฉgler de mon cotรฉ.

@nizarus Sengi est aussi (et surtout) une webapp qui en fait redirige vers le site en question, donc avec ses propres cookie etc.
Dans une app, on peux ouvrir une fenรชtre web complรจtement sรฉparรฉe qui ne garde pas d'รฉtat (cookie, session, etc) et donc ne pose pas ce problรจme.

Pour ajouter un compte en TL, ce n'est aujourd'hui possible que via une liste en effet ; et quand on crรฉรฉ une liste il me semble qu'il faut attendre les futures publications des comptes associรฉs pour qu'elle se remplisse.

One of the big problems with threads is that once a post has more than a few replies, it's very difficult, if not impossible, to keep track of them all and see who replied to what, etc.

It almost makes me not want to create a post which is likely to get a lot of responses, or participate in a discussion which already has a lot of responses.

It means that you end up repeating yourself over and over again because people reply to you without reading the rest of the thread and seeing what you've already said in response to other people or whatever. And who can blame them? It's practically impossible to do so.

I understand that this is probably something that can be addressed purely on the client side, but since most people use the default website and mobile app, it's probably something that @Gargron should look into as well.

But speaking of which, does anyone know of a desktop client like @sengi_app, which actually does threading well?

@GrahamDowns replies really has two issues on the fediverse:

  1. post synchronization: every instance doesn't have the full picture, and this is the biggest issue that leads to "a lot of people say the same thing" since... they can't even see other content. solve partly this issue by fetching remote content (when possible) but that doesn't solve the issue for others.
  2. thread display can always be enhanced, it's not easy to get it right. I'm open to suggestion. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nope. It was colour. Grr. Added to dictionary. Pity I can't specify English (UK) as a dictionary.

@jigmedatse post scheduling has proven unreliable depending on the instance unfortunately, works well on some, doesn't work on others.
It's definitively something instance related since Sengi only call some API to schedule the given posts. ๐Ÿ˜•

It's a "language support" update: new post language settings, translation, etc.

Also, if you're using the Electron build, update to the last one (1.7.0) and get spellchecker synchronization when you change the language in the post editor!

Electron c'est juste pour ceux qui veulent, Sengi est surtout une webapp avant tout.

Pour le raccourci, c'est comme tout, un peu de travail mais pas insurmontable, mais visiblement @lienrag se propose pour s'y coller alors รงa me va. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

(ouvrez une nouvelle issue sur la question, รงa permettra au moins de poser les touches/comportements qui seraient intรฉressant d'utiliser)

Il ne suffit pas de rajouter le hotkey, il faut aussi le relier ร  l'UI et ร  l'รฉtat de l'application. Donc un peu de travail dans le codebase quand mรชme, comme toute autre fonctionnalitรฉ. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ceci dit, si tu a du temps sur les bras et que รงa t'intรฉresse, je peux te donner des ressources pour apprendre Angular. Si tu dรฉbute complet en web, je peux aussi te pointer des cours en HTML/CSS. Et t'aider dans le codebase de Sengi ensuite.

hey can app start catching emojis locally instead of making me ask the api for the image list every time I click on the emoji list button because custom emoji buttons are literally unusable on most instances I'm on otherwise, just a giant blank list of emojis
