This week, I've seen quite a few comments about how non-alcoholic drinks (inspired by their alcoholic counterparts) are dumb, especially when they're almost as expensive as the alcoholic version of them.

A lot of people don't drink for multiple reasons. Health, medication interactions, being #sober, etc.

I've been sober for almost 6 months now, but I still miss "having a drink" on Friday nights. I still like the taste. So it's nice to be able to make yourself a tasty NA gin&tonic. Or crack open a bottle of NA wine with dinner. It's not the same as water or soda.

And most of the NA drink are dealcoholized, which means that they can't be much cheaper. They're made with the same ingredients. Or they have additional ingredients to mimic the taste properly.

Anywayyys, I like my mocktails with a side of no headaches, dehydration or bad sleep 😄

We're getting a quote from a painter tonight because I finally convinced Kyle that it was dangerous and not worth it to finish painting the two staircases ourselves (the walls and ceilings are HIGH).

And now my silly anxiety makes me feel like he's going to judge everything I've painted so far in the house 🤦‍♀️

They really cheaply finished the basement in our house. Now that we filled all the holes (left by demolishing the second kitchen that was there), and repainted in lighter colors... the walls are so messed up lol You can see joints and wavy lines... At least we wanted to put a lot of stuff on the walls to help with the acoustics of the TV/home theatre 😅

Weekend plans (after Costco): finish painting the media room! Kyle really wanted a fun geometrical wall behind the TV, so hopefully we can do it! (White, pale blue, dark blue and black).

We have baseboards and a ceiling without holes, so that's a good start!

There is an.. older co-worker, a woman at work, who decided to put "any pronouns" on her Teams profile.

The kind of person you just "know" is not an "any pronoun" kinda person.

So my work bestie wrote to our manager a month ago, asking her if she could talk to her, and explain how it's not okay to put the wrong pronouns like that. (She can easily put no pronouns at all.)

Well our manager "talked" to her and she either refused to listen, or refused to understand, and decided to keep what she had.

I understand needing an explanation. I don't understand refusing to listen, and doing that when you know you're hurting some of your co-workers.

This team is so toxic.

I love that I'm enjoying cooking again!! I was always so drained after work that I would often choose the really easy, hand-off, recipes. Or skip the vegetables because I didn't feel like cutting and prepping. Cooking for lunch is fun!

We're idiots and I have anxiety. We misunderstood each other, meters confused us with the trees, and I didn't fight back thinking Kyle knew better than me lol

We definitely don't have space for two of the three trees we bought yesterday 🫠

We'll have nice trees to donate (anyone? Lol).

We'll keep the magnolia, and we got a dappled willow, a weeping larch and a dwarf Korean lilac instead. We feel stupid, but much better with our new choices.

As I said, we're idiots.
