supamanc,

You can’t be proved wrong. Noone can ever prove that someone never existed, but you can prove that someone did exist. If you have such proof for the existance for jesus, please share it.

supamanc,

Thing is, as with DNA, the whole fingerprint is not examined, just certain reference points. The chances of 10 points in a particular print matching another random person’s are much much greater than the whole fingerprint.

supamanc,

Yet we’re training undercover spies to ferret out benefits fraudsters.

supamanc,

You don’t have to go forcefully into anyone’s home.

supamanc,

You ban firearms:

Year one and two: firearms can be turned in to the authorities for a rebate. Possession of a firearm or ammo is a misdemeanor resulting in the confiscation of such, with no further action. Use of a firearm in commission of a crime carriers a harsher penalty. Trading firearms attracts a fine.

Year three to five/six: as above, but possession now arracts a fine, increasing year on year starting as an inconvenience, ending as quite punitive. Trading firearms arracts prison time. Guns and ammo can be handed in anonymously, no rebate/reward.

Year six to ten/fifteen: as above, possession is now a criminal offence, with jail sentences starting at a few months, increasing year on year to serious jail time, commensurate with civilised countries. Trading attracts harsher sentences.

supamanc,

Cool! That’ll save us about 20k a year after we pay wages and administration costs. Then we can do the same for the tax fraudsters and evaders, right?

Donald Trump has posted a $175 million bond to avert asset seizure as he appeals NY fraud penalty (apnews.com)

Donald Trump posted a $175 million bond on Monday in his New York civil fraud case, halting collection of the more than $454 million he owes and preventing the state from seizing his assets to satisfy the debt while he appeals, according to a court filing....

supamanc,

For everyone who thinks the state should just “take Trump Tower”, do you understand that’s not something they’re good at? They would need to find a buyer. You can’t just get a buyer for such a large building in a few days. They really would prefer cash for at least part of the fine.

I think you don’t understand how asset forfeiture works. Trump tower is worth (reportedly) some $800m. The state seizes and sell it for the $500m he owes. They would find a buyer pretty quickly at that price. Any extra on top of the judgment amount is returned with compliments to Trump.

supamanc,

Ah, well that’s an aspect I hadn’t considered!

supamanc,

So you’ll eat her out, but sharing a razor is beyond the pale?

supamanc,

Yep, according to the article, they have a strong enough lobby bribe machine to win exemption.

supamanc,

One can’t chose to believe something, you either believe it or you don’t. I don’t believe in God because there is no evidence for it, and nothing that cannot be explained without God, and no explanation involving God which isn’t made more complicated by His involvement. If God exists, and he did in fact create me, then he made me this way, incapable of belief without proof. So his choice is that I no be ‘with him’. I have no fee will.

supamanc,

Nothing you’ve said there constitutes an argument against any of my points. You don’t provide any evidence, just state a belief that it exists. You don’t address exactly how I can chose to believe in something. Nor how if I was created by God, said God must have invested me with scepticism, which in turn prevents my belief in said God.

supamanc,

The median length of observation was seven years, with participants filling follow up questionnaires in the first year. So for the remaining 6 years we just assume that people are still following the same diet regimin?

supamanc,

What is it with the walls the don’t go all the way to floor and the 2 inch gap in the door?

supamanc,

More police resource dedicated to protecting derelict private property.

supamanc,

More who needs bombs when you’ve got the NSA? All insurgents have their assets frozen, health care suspended, social security numbers frozen, banned from legal employment. They become second class citizens overnight, relying on others for food and money. Their movements tracked through phones and cars. All associates are under scrutiny. Then it’s just a matter of sending the FBI round to arrest them

supamanc,

Because if a guy with a bomb manages to persuad the pilot to change course…

supamanc,

Are people really thst bothered about which way they are facing when travelling?

supamanc,

The comments section for this article is an absolute train wreck.

supamanc,

Crypto - try to remember before crypto, the idea of cashless was non-existent. Want to make international transfers? Pay up the ass in fees and at rates they choose. Crypto forced companies to do better with digital currency.

That may be true in the USA, but in the UK we had cashless payment (chip and pin) well before any crypto, and sending money abroad has always been cheap and easy.

supamanc,

Where is this? Saw almost the exact same one today in Glasgow!
