Forgejo-Federated-⭐s

There is now an (intermediate) option for setting federated repos via UI.
Based on that we are currently developing the sending of activities to distribute stars to the federated repos.

We also noticed that there are some things to consider, regarding activity sending. Feel invited to share your thoughts on this. 🙂

I am sadly shutting down our #friendica instance, https://social.babb.no. I didn't promote it enough, mostly because I was testing it.

I love their idea, I think the folk around it are really nice, but I don't have time to start a test instance just to debug things. I also miss what I have with other instances (mastodon, pixelfed and to a lesser extent, Bookwyrm): a sense of community of sysadmins to help each other. Maybe it was my fault that I didn't find it.

Now we send federated ⭐s!

Our team member @patdyn implemented a working POC of a federated star.
Also credits to @jerger who did some really helpful reviews :)

This needs some more testing of course but we might be onto something big. :)

Either #LinkedIn screwed up or they have something weird going on and activated the "Ghost Town" algorithm on their content feed 😆

I notice that for days there are actually zero new posts, and timeline seems like an iceberg.

Heard some frustrations by people who try to stand out on that platform.

Don't tie your fate to Bermuda Triangle proprietary platforms. Your dingy may be swallowed below the dark waves at any moment.
