A subtle little shot I took in Liechtenstein on this date back in 2019. That's the castle in Vaduz, against a backdrop of mountains.

Now free for all to read... An old sleeper train carriage on a section of track next to Violet Town railway station summons memories of a terrible tragedy of the past:

For those in Oz with a penchant for folk-horror, I noticed last night that SBS On Demand currently has the classic 1973 original of 'The Wicker Man' available.

It expires a month from now, so be sure to take a trip to Summerisle before then, otherwise their apple crops may fail once more... 😉

@imalcolm That is a cracking movie. So strange and moody

We're mostly vegetarian at home, but I've long since given up ordering the vegetarian option on planes. Too much of a risky dice-throw.

We're not still buying DVDs, but we have kept our collection of a couple of hundred titles just in case we ever need to take a break from streaming services to save money. And I'm currently watching season 2 of Doctor Who because it isn't on any streaming services I subscribe to.

Interesting idea. At least it's more palatable than SBS On Demand with its clunky ad breaks.

I watched only ABC iview for a week. Here’s what I loved and hated.

@TasDave It is annoying that iView won't let me click past ABC program promotions (at least not on its Apple TV app).

@mike_t143 I watch SBS via Apple TV and the ads are painful. Wish they offered an ad-free option.

I’m mostly not on Reddit anymore for MH reasons but I miss reading about stuff like this. Straight man is worried about his wife going to.. literature events

@skinnylatte Those AITAH posts always read like complete set-ups. Something fake and pat about them. Cathartic for readers, though.

@acb @GrimmReality God I loathe noisy motorbikes in the CBD. Noisy on approach, noisy while passing, STILL noisy after departure. Pain in the arse.

These squarish flat-fronted houses in Oxford Street, Collingwood, are interesting - don’t really fit with the style of other houses of the same vintage. I wonder if they had a specific purpose other than residential?

Actually once you know the sounds made by letters in combination (eg sz = sh in English), pronouncing Polish words is easy. They just look daunting on first glance.
