We've been hearing an increasing number of reports of trans people's GPs refusing to prescribe their HRT to them - even if they have a letter from an NHS gender clinic requesting that they do.
Looking for Survey Participants for the dissertation project "Reviewing Gender as Colonial Construct and its Impact on Transgender and Intersexual Discrimination." You must be 18+ and trans and/or intersex.
Since the launch of the #CassReview in 2020, the situation for trans children in the UK has continued to decline. In 2022 the UK Minister for Health called for clinicians to look for evidence of “what has caused children to be trans,”
The Cass Review was cited by the British government to justify plans to exclude trans people from legislation to ban conversion therapy.
With a General Election looming, it's important to make sure you've got an approved Voter ID or make sure you're registered for a postal/proxy vote. Make sure you're prepared to have your voice heard.

The UK is lagging behind other countries on banning conversion practices. Time to catch up & ban conversion practices for all LGBTQI+ people.

@pqqq@transactualuk hiya, apologies. We’re still getting to grips with Mastodon. We use a scheduling tool to post for us automatically and it doesn’t let us add the CW feature. I’ll go through and check on our posts now.
Billy Tipton was a saxophonist and pianist who was popular in the 1940s and 1950s. When he died in 1989, people found out that he was trans. Trans people have always been part of our communities.
On Holocaust Memorial Day we of course commemorate all victims of the Holocaust - Jewish people, LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, Romani people, Black people and so many more. But as a trans organisation, we of course turn our thoughts to trans people in particular.
For many trans people, being able to transition can be absolutely life changing and life saving.
One person told us "Before transitioning, I could not see myself in the future. That person didn't exist, there wasn't a space in the world that I could fill. Now there is."
There's this myth that trans people are a 'new phenomenon' or that people 'can always tell' if someone is trans. But there's so much evidence to prove otherwise.
Take Willmer 'Little Axe' Broadnax, a popular gospel singer in the 1940s. People only found out that he was trans after his death in 1992.
@emptyother definitely. Typically we hear about rich white people but don’t hear about working class trans people, Black and brown trans people (unless they’re famous because of working in the entertainment industry), and so many more. So many lost stories and perspectives.
