They've been desperately running around putting the lid on things that keep bubbling up, hoping to make it to this period in time when excess deaths will be measured against 2020 numbers. It's funny they think it's gonna work -- they're too in denial to realize the number's gonna keep going up as scv2 damage starts catching up hard.

My 3M secure click respirator makes a weird sound after I used it once or twice. It did not make this sound before. On exhale there is a thumpy click sound.(recording attached) After investigating I think it comes from this grey exhalation plate thingy (do not know what it is called, photo attached in the next comment)
My voice sounds more distorted somehow as well.
After disassembling and cleaning according to official instruction videos the problem persists.
Question: is it something serious? Should I not wear it (i was waring different masks since discovering the problem), or is there a way to repair it? What is going on, did anyone else have similar problems?

@rybson that's the exhale valve, yeah? I've had this same issue on a different elasto. Might be able to get a replacement valve cover.

@fishelfe there are a bunch of mri safe masks out there, but can be hard to identify cuz they still use non ferrous metal (ie not magnetic). Alternatively, you could try to get your hands on some readimasks.

There really needs to be a way for an instance admin to be able to automatically ignore reports from a specific server. Especially when those users have no fucking clue what it is they're reporting.

Users and friends, filtering hashtag 診断メーカー works to keep the current wave of spam out of your timeline, mentions, etc, as this example shows.

Over 4.4K in the last 24-hours. I know many admins have been combating it all night to keep it out of your timeline.

Might not be a bad idea to set the filter up while 's combat the problems.

If you're not curious, hide completely instead of just a warning as shown in the red circle..

> To maximize our chances of identifying the underpinnings of this illness, we have focused on 121 of the most severe cases from >1000 patients screened in specialized clinics in Sweden and Belgium. We restricted this study to subjects with objective measures of organ damage or dysfunction, >3 months following a verified, but mild-to-moderate SARS-CoV-2 infection. By performing systems-level immunological testing and comparisons to controls fully convalescent following a similar mild/moderate COVID-19 episode, we identify elevated serological responses to SARS-CoV-2 in severe Long COVID suggestive of chronic antigen stimulation. Persistent viral reservoirs have been proposed in Long COVID and using multiple orthogonal methods for detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA and protein in plasma we identify a subset of patients with detectable antigens, but with minimal overlap across assays, and no correlation to symptoms or immune measurements. Elevated serologic responses to SARS-CoV-2 on the other hand were inversely correlated with clonally expanded memory CD8+ T cells, indicating that restrained clonal expansion enables viral persistence, chronic antigen exposure and elevated IgG responses, even if antigen-detection in blood is not universally possible.

I had a hard time finding a mask that fits my nine year old. She passes a home fit test with Vitacore Children's CAN99e but it's an ear loop mask, that we clip tight behind her head. She's a year older now, maybe I can find something with a strap on the back. Any suggestions?

@Heinke both United Canada Inc and the cursed e-commerce giant have the one we've had good success with (and tested 2nd or 3rd best by the person who does kid fit testing on :birdsite:) -- the Kimberley-Clark / Kimtech / Kleenguard N95 pouch respirator in small (54065 is the 20pk, 54066 is the 50pk)

Straps aren't terribly robust, so it fits/seals best on first use.

Complete loss of bitter taste was the most prevalent specific ageusia (66.7%) and coffee was the most common distorted smell (56.4%). Seven different combinations of dysfunction were observed in the patients, the most common being a combination of olfactory and gustatory dysfunction (48.0%).
