Whelp, getting sick here with an annoying cold. 🤧 I managed to grocery shop to prepare for the coming week, I should be good to go without needing to go outside for a while. Pretty annoyed that I'll likely be sick this whole holiday. 😒

It's quite a stupid word actually, waterpik. Water-pik. Pik is an informal word for penis in Dutch. Waterpenis.

Feeling stressed today and fought this by doing gardening work for a few hours. All the butterfly bushes (I have 4 in total) have been trimmed. Just that, trimmed, not clipped as I've read that's best done in spring. Still, that was enough branches to fill up the organic trash bin for tomorrow's pick up. I think I've done enough physical work for today.

Last evening I was in the mood to play a story-based adventure game. During one of Steam's Next Fests I tried out a demo of Cats and the Other Lives and liked it a lot. A very lot. So I acquired it and then played it a fair bit.

I will continue playing soon. The storyline has a sad tone overall but it's interesting and there are a few comedic moments. Especially when a laser pointer is involved... 😄

Meet Sjors and Sjimmie. 🥰 Finally I could take a nice pic of them together and you can see the tiny differences. They're somewhere between 12 and 14 weeks old. I might put their birthday on 1 August unless a vet can tell me more.

Sjimmie is clearly the bigger of the two when they're standing next to each other. But Sjors is the brave explorer and a li'l attention whore. 😋

Spent half the evening on the couch with the kitties purring on my lap. Watched a movie. I was the one who watched a movie, the kitties just slept. And purred.

Da's lekker. Mijn stad heeft een initiatief waarbij je een afspraak kan maken met de energiefixer, iedere inwoner kreeg daar een brief over.

Dan komt de energiefixer langs om even je huishouden duurzamer te maken: lampen vervangen voor LED-lampen, radiatorfolie plaatsen, een radiatorventilator erbij voor betere warmtespreiding, een waterbesparende douchekop installeren, en twee stekkerblokken met aan/uit-knoppen meegeven. Allemaal gratis geregeld door de gemeente.

Ik weet wel zeker dat ik aardig wat stroom ga besparen, want er bleken toch nog veel gloeilampen in mijn huis te hangen. Zelfs de spotjes in de keuken werden vervangen voor LED-spotjes en die worden vaak gebruikt. Die LED-lampen zijn van die nieuwerwetse dingen met die led-staafjes erin, nice.

Wel tegen die aardige knul gezegd dat het waarschijnlijk handiger was geweest dat voor de winter te doen, want die verwarming gaat nu bijna nooit gebruikt worden de komende maanden. 😋 Maar joh, goed initiatief.

Finally got around to watching the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I didn't realize that it's from 2005 already, jeez.

It's not 100% according to the books but close enough and very enjoyable. It's silly, it's goofy, it's just outright stupid. Just like the books.

It is a nice complete story from start to finish. And Marvin desperately needs a positivity-chip.

I knew Balatro was addicting, but not that addicting that I went to bed several hours after midnight. 😬

Bought this game on the day of its release. I had played its demo during the latest Next Fest and decided that, yes, I very much would like to continue playing it and that the 10% discount on release was good enough!

Definitely going to waste a lot of time on this one.

I'm not really agreeing with the current RIVM-rules about corona, which is to say: there's no rules anymore.

You don't need to self-test. And only when you have symptoms and feel sick you should stay home. We have to give this the same treatment as you would with the flu or the common cold.

One of my coworkers is infected, just found out this morning. They stay at work anyway. We've had like 8 infections so far in the past week.

Whelp, just a matter of time before I'm infected with this new strain as well. 🥴
