Nachdem mir heute gesagt wurde, ich sei "so gut mit Linux", erzähl ich euch mal, wie ich meinen Nachmittag verbracht habe. Thread! 🧵

Wenn ihr mögt, gebt Ratschläge, aber wundert euch nicht, wenn ich nicht reagiere. Bin angenervt.

Ich habe nen Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i Duplex-Einzugscanner. Früher hab ich unter Windows den proprietären Treiber benutzt, um in PDFs zu scannen, mit OCR. Wenn ich mal nen Kassenzettel scanne, erkennt die Software das und macht automatisch ein sehr schmales PDF daraus.

@scy I feel your pain. Ich habe mit einem ix1500 genau das gleiche Dilemma. Mein Hauptproblem: das Ding kann nicht einfach auf einen SMB (oder NFS, FTP oder sonst was im lokalen Netz) scannen. Es ist immer ein verfluchte Rechner (oder VM) notwendig. Ich betreibe demnach auch eine Windows VM nur für die Scansnap Software 😒

Ich mag ja "ochsen" als Verb, mit der Bedeutung "etwas mit roher Gewalt machen", üblicherweise mit noch nem Präfix. Sowas wie

"Der hat den Ball einfach hundert Meter übern See weggeochst." (mit bemerkenswerter Kraft gekickt)

"Alter, wer hat die Mutter denn so zugeochst?" (übertrieben fest angezogen)

@scy ich kenne es auf jeden Fall aus dem sächsischen Sprachgebrauch. Insbesondere in Form von "rumochsen". Zum Beispiel wenn (kleine) Kinder auf dem Sofa Turnübungen machen "müsst ihr schon wieder so auf dem Sofa rumochsen".

@phranck bei uns gibt es aktuell die Regelung "Aktuelles Schuljahr = Taschengeld in € pro Woche". Meine Kinder sind noch nicht im angefragten Bereich 14-16,aber wenn wir die Regelung bis dahin beibehalten, wären es in Klasse 9 36€ und entsprechend in Klasse 10 40€.

@ivory @timpritlove I don't have Apple devices so I'm not using Ivory but I don't think that a favorite and bookmark button is "too much". This is what it looks like on Tusky (for Android)

Also ich hatte mich ja vor einiger Zeit wirklich ergebnisoffen nach Alternativen zu Neovim (für meinen persönlichen Einsatz) umgesehen, und was mir bei Nano gefehlt hat, war

• die Möglichkeit für Plugins
• Splits
• LSP

Stellt sich raus: Micro hat all das. Und ist in Go geschrieben, also super einfach zu installieren.

(Und ja, ich weiß dass Helix existiert. Aber Helix ist halt immer noch nicht wirklich pluginfähig. Und WAsm zählt nicht.)

@scy OK, klingt plausibel. Ich persönlich kann mir aktuell überhaupt nicht vorstellen von dem Konzept "modal Editing" wieder weg zu gehen. Um das Zeit/Nutzen Verhältnis aber ein wenig zu verbessern, nutze ich "fertige" Neovim Distributionen, damit ich nicht so komplett bei Null anfangen muss mit der Config.

    @fiee kommt drauf an, ob vorher schon Android Debugging eingerichtet wurde. Falls ja, kannst du scrpy (https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy) verwenden um das Gerät komplett ohne Display zu bedienen, oder auch adb direkt um die Daten runter zu holen. Ohne Debugging wird es meines Erachtens nach recht schwierig.

    🇩🇪 Wie labelt ihr eure Gehölze in eurem Waldgarten? Ich mache bisher laminierte Schilder. Aber nach 3-4a brechen die. Und von den Plasteschlaufen, die ich mit Edding beschriftet habe, geht die Beschriftung nach 1a ab.

    🇬🇧 How do you label your plants in your food forest? I used to make laminated labels. But after 3-4a they start breaking. Then I have some plastic loops written on with Edding. But the writing has washed off after 1a.

    or Lifehack: sometimes one needs to search for paths such as /home/user. Normally you would need to escape the slashes (/) in the search string, which is kind of annoying. Today I found out that this isn't necessary if you use the backward search (? instead of /)

    @2ndStar eins der Hauptprobleme mit dem Gehalt bei Lehrenden bzw. Beamtinnen ist meiner Meinung nach auch die hohe Fixierung auf den jeweiligen Abschluss. Ich hatte tatsächlich überlegt als Quereinsteiger in Richtung Lehrer zu gehen, dann aber feststellen müssen, dass ich nie das gleiche verdienen kann wie die Kolleginnen, weil ich "nur" an einer FH statt an einer Uni studiert habe.

    @2ndStar ich bin über die letzten Verhandlungen nicht im Bilder, weiß nur dass es vor 1-2 Jahren schon so war und das wirkt dann halt erst einmal sehr abschreckend. Und nicht jede/r kann es sich leisten nochmal einen Uni Master "nachzuholen" (habe auch ein FH Diplom).
