A native Floridian, I am fascinated by all forms of musical expression, but I cut my teeth on heavy metal. My first five shows were Dio, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, and Exodus. I am an avid progger and free / classical jazz man, too. I welcome and encourage discussion.

While I'd say I am political, I make it a point to discuss such things on my blog, which I'll be setting up shortly.

I am a music gear nerd and Linux expert, questions are always welcome.

Coffin Torture are fantastic. I just listened to both of their albums again. It's this doomy, psychedelic riffy mix and this sound is NOT something that just any band can pull off well. I think someone here recommended them? I totally forget. Whoever you were, thank you, and if you see this, let me know!

@cory And I’ve been trying to tell people that there is no such thing as AI. Predictive algorithm generators and information aggregators are only small parts of the puzzle. But the media and venture capitalists have to make it sound sexy.

@HailsandAles It's not bad. I really need to listen to it again to fill in the details. I'm not sure how to classify it. Has a tight sound but it's not thrash or death, some keyboards. A lot of 'machine-gun' drumming.
