TOKYO – Japanese manga artist Akira Toriyama, famous around the world for the “Dragon Ball” series and “Dr. Slump,” among other works, died on March 1, publisher Shueisha Inc. has announced.
lichess integration so every unresolvable argument can be decided by a chess duel. A bot reacts when it’s called by a command (plus arguments to customize the game) and drops a link (only OP can access and play, others join as spectators). Results are then posted as a reply. It’s not possible atm, but I guess lichess devs are based and won’t mind a little customization on their side for that silly matter. Federating with them would be a way to null many people’s bingo cards.
I made a post on a community on the Lemmy.world instance and I can only see it from my discuss.online account, not a separate lemmy.world account. Is this a federation issue? Not sure why this would happen if we’re federated with lemmy.world. Thanks for feedback!
For some reason I can’t load feed via Connect app while logged into this instance, but it works with others instances and by logging in there via browser. Noticed it today around 6 hours ago. Idk if it’s related to this problem but it’s weird.
Why would they even do it? Those votes may only be casted by (1) holders of russian internal passports for (2) russian-approved figureheads on (3) territories under military control and ideological persecution. These results can’t be used for any sort of argument. Even to show them to international partners who won’t be that happy to recognize them now. Even to local vatniks.
For me it’s probably Jazzpunk, but I liked Disco Elysium too. I’ve been looking for something to scratch that “Jazzpunk surrealist comedy itch” for a while and not many games have come even close.
Maybe there shouldn’t be a scheme simplifying a complex matter to two axes, coupled with these short questionnaires? Or it shouldn’t be taken seriously at all? PCM is a Harry Potter houses test for political fandoms on the internet, it has it’s niche, but neither it, nor other models bring something meaningful to the table for it is by design a gross oversimplification.
Stuff that actually matters brings profit to some important people. Addictive drugs are a lucrative biz. If selling them hasn’t got an approval from the top, they couldn’t have spread as much as they had.
In EU\US it’s mostly about lobbies, there it’s pure feudal nepotism. Someone’s been probably given a role to oversee their import\certification\reselling and collect their %s in return. Hard to imagine a legistation to hurt that scheme being even voiced.
Deeper intergration with p2p file sharing\streaming-oriented sites and protocols, e.g. torrents, but decentralized too. Think like Blizzard with their p2p acceleration of downloads using other people’s downloaded game. Basically, making your own PC a source of content for those accesing instance. May probably ease traffic reqs for instances and make them more reliable under ddos.
Infrastructure for old-fashioned game servers’ communities, like those for Minecraft. Login with your fediverse account, one-click joining server, creating federated networks of them with theoretical migration of progress\playtime\achievements. It can make this way of multiplayer gaming convinient again. Yet again, it needs specifically tailored games\clients.
Mapping and geocaching communities. A network of overlaying local map-canvases that people can interact with by adding favorite routes, comments, points of interest.
Books and articles shared between repositories of different universities\libraries.
They don’t have much power to down multiple places so they targeted one to show off, watch our reaction and see how vulnerabilities get fixed. It’s probably one person or a thread on some chan-board taking offense at LW\Lemmy for some reason, and c/shitposting could be taken by activity\moderators count metrics rather than for having something against it alone. They did damage and locked community, but what’s next? If they are indeed like old boards’ posters, methodically flooding communities one after another doesn’t make sense and gets old really quick if they can’t do something more atrocious, achieve new goal or find another exploit. That’s done already.
Arrests and visits are not that widespread yet. Problems are atomization of society and lack of trust, that doesn’t help organizing for literally anything too. Someone in higher comment remembered the long and hardly broken by 90s history of opression, but there’s an old anecdote: ‘If Stalin is such a monster, who sniched on others millions of times?’. If you don’t vet a person\company before dropping heavy topics and opinions, they can tell on you just out of spite. On a local, small people level, folks aren’t found out by secret services, they are snitched on. A girl painted a pro-peace picture and teacher called a police, resulting in her father imprisoned and her put into shelter. Some guy overheard a couple talking in a cafe and boyfriend was pressed face-to-floor before they had a chance to leave. Some college students snitched on a classmate just for lulz to FSB and she got a prison sentence out of blue, she was 19. It’s despicable, but these facts aren’t systemic oppression, but rather ugly POSes having a new leverage over others. When Zs are plastered everywhere, you aren’t really sure who’d hear you at all times.
Telegram is very widespread and not blocked (while most VPNs are). Many under 45 follow the situation there, see videos and news. They just don’t know what to do with that, to fully comprehend what’s going on themselves and see their role in it, and totally unlikely to talk about it publicly. It’s going back to close kitchen talks of later USSR. Everyone understands everything, but mantra comes to mind. Not many take a hard stance now, but try to put together a Frankenstein’s creature of conflicting thoughts\bits of information to somehow explain the situation (like the viral beheading done by Wagner), or isolate themselves from it altogether to keep moving. Only to then get very surprised, when this thrown away and long forgotten puzzle suddenly blows up under their bed.
Is there a way for admin teams and self-hosters to have a shared banlist, IP\instances included? Like a sideloading addition to a local filter, with a limited amount of collectively approved contributors commiting to it directly? I don’t know how it should work, but it may possibly reduce their attacks’ effectiveness.
A healthy diet, if you will. Fastfood is okay once in a while but eating it all the time just as tiring to one’s body as clickbait information to one’s head.
Finnish police have arrested the Russian Yan Petrovsky, a leader of neo-Nazi paramilitary group “Task Force Rusich,” who is wanted in Ukraine on suspicion of committing war crimes in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2014–2015. According to media reports, Kyiv has already requested Petrovsky’s extradition.
Scandinavian stuff is like a magnet for nazi idiots. Vikings, runes, groups like Burzum (see Varg Vikernes), white majority in the country, nortern nature, isolation and safety to form clubs or even parties for them. It’s like a Disneyland for him.
And after a while, when he was deported, he probably wanted to get back, as in his country nazism is controlled and only useful, submissive strays are safe to be. Becoming too influential or talking against the party line is a punishable offence. At least a couple of big neonazi\alt-right turds got suicided in recent decade for acting up, and I wasn’t following them closely. If only it wasn’t in history books.
