The raging porn debate on Bluesky rn is chef's kiss.

Basically, a multi-part issue:

  • There's no way to opt in as a NSFW account.
  • The AI isn't catching all of the content for various reasons.
  • People who don't want to see the content are getting mad and;
  • The users who are posting the content are worried they will be banned.

@joy Bluesky went a bit crazy with the NSFW/porn pics. I'm very sex positive, but even then I'm surprised i see it in a main feed like that. Not sure the solution, because banning would be wrong but it is pretty lawless over in that app

    Feeling vulnerable, so I thought I’d share some extra personal stuff:

    Was dating this guy for 6ish months (long short story: when we met he said he was “straight” and a lot of confusing talks/dates later, he’s bi-curious) and then a little over a month ago, he ghosted me and started seeing this girl..

    Wellllll I drunkenly text him the other day to grab tea and clear the air, and I found out he married her after knowing her for a little less than a month. MARRIED HER!

    That feeling when you're refactoring something, realize that you didn't have a test for a particular scenario, and you're debating internally on whether to add a test now.

    Whenever I choose to not add that test, I often regret it a few weeks/months/years later.

    Looks like the Thunderbolt KVM Switch is available on Amazon. Specs look just like the CalDigit Element Hub with a switch added on to it. Guessing there's no hotkey input switch and I've got a feeling it only charges the connected device. But hey if you've been waiting for something like this for years, it’s here.

    It’s interesting that the will have 90/96 Hz refresh rates, and that 96 Hz was called out specifically to support 24 FPS movies. This is great for watching films originally shot on celluloid, but it’s also interesting that 60 Hz video (or 120 Hz games or HFR movies) will not be able to be viewed at their native frame rate.

    @drahardja ohhh gotcha, for some reason I thought apple displays (like the iPhone for example) had dynamic Hz? As in, the iPhone 14 with 120hz, it could dynamically switch from 96Hz to 60Hz. Thanks for the explanation! TIL
