Trump floats idea of three-term presidency at NRA convention (www.theguardian.com)

Donald Trump flirted with the idea of being president for three terms – a clear violation of the US constitution – during a bombastic speech for the National Rifle Association in which he vowed to reverse gun safety measures green-lighted during the Biden administration....

workerONE,

Someone asked if Republicans will ever run a candidate other than Trump while he is alive. He has such a strong grip on the party that even if he keeps losing he may remain the R candidate, in 2028 and beyond.

workerONE,

I heard (from Dan Carlan) that it was fun when the person being executed would call out to god and tell god they’re going to be there soon, and really act out the part of a person going to heaven. But more and more people became non-believers and when they executed someone that just screamed and resisted it really took the enjoyment out of witnessing the execution. Executions ended soon after.

workerONE,

Nobody needs my comment but here it goes. I don’t take it personally, it has nothing to do with me. I don’t have any issue with people’s answers. I know that many people have PTSD and bad experiences and they’d prefer to avoid weird situations like this.

But privately there’s a part of me that likes to solve problems and consider everything for myself. I think the question is set up to imply danger by comparing a wild bear to a strange man. If the scenario were different I would expect different results: You are hiking in the desert and you become lost and you have no water. After several days you see a man who offers you water and directions. Do you choose to turn away and continue into the desert or do you accept the man’s offer to help provide water and directions to safety?

I have had traumatic experiences with people and one day I realized that I was negatively effected by them and I chose to start practicing Jiu-Jitsu where you need to be in close contact with people as you struggle to gain advantage and win points. I no longer feel the same fear and apprehension about being close to people like I did before.

If people feel a certain way I just wish them healing.

workerONE,

Apparently a novated lease is when a third party, usually the leasee’s employer takes over the lease payments and deducts the amount from the employee’s pay check. It saves the leasee money by reducing their taxable income.

workerONE,

For dual sport / trail bikes, electric motorcycles get about 70 mile real world range if you’re lucky. A gasoline powered bike can get three times that, easy. But I love how quiet electric bikes are, great for trail riding.

It’s difficult to compete with Chinese companies that operate at a loss and are subsidized by the Chinese government.

This event happened days before another story like this- where some teens accidentally drove up the wrong driveway and the owner started shooting and killed one of them. Both stories showed the state of mind of gun owning homeowners when someone approaches their home. nbcnews.com/…/kaylin-gillis-shot-driveway-new-yor…

“A 20-year-old woman with dreams of becoming a marine biologist was fatally shot by a homeowner Saturday when the car she was in turned into the wrong driveway in upstate New York.

Kaylin Gillis’ death, which occurred days after 16-year-old Ralph Yarl was shot and seriously injured after ringing the wrong doorbell in Kansas City, has sparked a national conversation around gun violence as well as “stand your ground” and “castle doctrine,” both self-defense laws.”

Need Help Finding Article on Car Privacy

I’m looking for an article I either read or heard about during a podcast fairly recently. It stated someone’s kid on vacation visited home, used their parents car, connected their phone to the infotainment system, and since it had access to their phone’s data was able to see who the kid was and increased the parents car...

But the phone’s owner could have been a passenger. Seems unrealistic

I thought that they are pursuing him for election law violations and if they prove that he made the payment to help his campaign then the other charges of falsifying business records carry more weight since it was done to cover up a crime.

“In a statement about Drake’s creation of “Taylor Made,” litigator Howard King called the song a “blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time” and said the Shakur estate never cleared the use of Tupac’s voice.”

"It all started on Feb. 4, 2022 — the day Nkrumah-Ture’s new landlord, Alvan Morrison, left a notice that told her she had 30 days to move out of the four-bedroom property. The notice, stuck in her front door, also said Morrison would be moving in, and that Nkrumah-Ture, then 64, would be “considered a housemate” until she left, according to a civil complaint filed against Morrison.

Two days later, Morrison showed up with boxes and told her to get out.

“I was in fear for my safety because it seemed like they were trying to do an illegal eviction,” said Nkrumah-Ture on the stand.

Morrison returned the following day with a group of people, including Terry, his brother. Nkrumah-Ture said Terry yelled and screamed at her from the sidewalk in front of the house. She said she also pushed a couch against her locked front door because Terry was “rattling” it, and “we didn’t want him to burst in.”

The police were called, but the harassment continued and escalated after officers left, said Nkrumah-Ture. She said Terry later tossed some of her belongings outside and taunted her and her friends after a padlock was placed on her bedroom door, locking them inside until police freed them.

Both actions were captured on cell phone video played during Monday’s trial.

“Y’all want to play, we can play too,” Terry can be heard saying on the footage.

Nkrumah-Ture said Terry also blew marijuana smoke in her face and called her and her friends derogatory names. At one point, she saw a gun sitting on the living floor. She said Terry announced at one point that “we’re licensed to carry” and threatened to “start shooting people.” "

The reply happened in Sept. 2022 on Tyler Idol’s account, which she now has pinned to her page, and was unearthed by some right-wing dork on X Wednesday. The reply is now deleted, but according to saved recordings, it simply stated “Wow” and was accompanied by two smiling faces with hearts emoji. As for how you can tell it...
