Today i upgraded my MBR legacy boot Windows 10 Home to GPT, UEFI, Secure Boot and finally Pro so i can have security policies so i can allow NTLM authentication to my Synology NAS (SMB) because nothing else would work so i could access the 4K UHD blu ray rip on it so i get transcoding on its 3070 with 7 fps instead of 3 on the M1 MBP. Yay.

Das Kind spielt Minecraft.

Der Server ist ein Createmod-Survival-Server, also ein Server mit Extensions, hier speziell solche, die das Bauen mechanischer Geräte und von Fahrzeugen ermöglichen.

Das Mod ist nicht fehlerfrei, und performt schlecht – unter anderem weil Minecraft im Kern trotz Java ziemlich übel single Threaded ist.

Wir haben je nach Aktivität und Szenarien 10-20 Spieler. In der letzten Woche weniger, wegen Stabiilitätsproblemen.

Grafana Graph, Log file size und number of retained crash logs. Senkrechte Striche zeigen Crash dates an, aber nur für die Zeit seit März.

Man kann das als Geburtsdatum des Internet sehen.

Das Protokoll wurde kurz danach standardisiert und hatte, weil es das einzige dieser Art war, keinen Namen. Retroaktiv wurde es NCP (Network Control Protocol) genannt, nachdem man mit TCP einen Nachfolger hatte.

Dokumentiert wurde es in https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc33 im Februar 1970.

I've been thinking about these "dns propagation checkers" like https://www.whatsmydns.net/ that show you a world map.

This feels weird to me, because the main reason that DNS lookups get outdated records is that the resolver has an old record cached. And whether or not a record is cached has nothing to do with the geographical location of the server?

what's going on with these sites? why are they designed this way?

(would love to hear from people who actually know the answer, not guesses)
