@gme I typically cut my feed over the summer anyway. Paramount Plus is my source for Let's Make a Deal. When they stop airing new episodes, there's no reason for me to give them money. Showtime isn't going to sweeten the deal for me, and bumping up the price to twelve dollars certainly doesn't.

What bothers me is that the free speech absolutists demand free speech for themselves, while offering none to anyone else. They have absolutely no problems with "echo chambers" which only echo and reinforce their beliefs... just look at any of the right-wing alternatives to Twitter, like Truth Social. It's literally in the terms of service that you can't challenge or criticize almighty Trump.

Right-wingers have PLENTY of spaces to make their idiotic opinions known... they're not starved for outlets of expression. So why come here? Sorry, but you've already got Germany. You're not annexing Czechoslovakia and Poland. Can't has, not yours.

The frothing hysteria over "wokeness" (ie treating your fellow humans with respect) is just a smokescreen by the oil industry, which hopes it will take some pressure off it for, you know, slowly killing us all with global warming. You do know this, don't you?

I went through a young Republican phase, too. Then I realized that the party had nothing to offer ordinary people but contempt and cynical manipulation. Like telling people that they can be good Christians by doing the exact opposite of what Christ did. Like pitting Americans against each other for their differences. Like convincing people that the former president, a monster by any objective standard, is this country's savior when it's clear that he's just shaking the nation for loose change.

It's called "wokeness" because we finally opened our eyes, saw what was happening all around us, and decided to do something about it. You can either recognize the evil in this world, or become another oblivious victim of it.

I've MacGyvered a makeshift arcade machine in my computer room. I've got a Legends Gamer Pro (a little somethin' somethin' I bought during the pandemic), set on a stand under a small TV mounted on the wall. It's far from elegant, but when the mood strikes for old-school video games, it's always there, ready to meet that need. And that mount is a Pipishell, so I can turn the TV on its side and play vertical games with their proper aspect ratios.

Does anybody feel like the quality of reddit has already dropped massively?

I see a lot of comments from bootlickers on how the protests are dumb and stupid and dont work and engagement metrics are still holding but the quality of posts and comments has noticeably depreciated imo. So much so that whenever I visit the site Im actually shocked at how bad it is.

I popped over there after my suspension expired, and... yeah? A little bit. I don't know if that boils down to my resentment for Lemur Boy or if it just started to suck after we all left. The whole thing feels insincere, corporate. The heart's not there.
