It feels like every time I find a podcast about security/networking/technology the hosts end up saying some pretty off-color stuff, or I look them up and they also host right wing podcasts. Are there any that are more leftist, hosted by LGBT peeps, or at least not actively bigoted ?
Well it's technically not the computer related podcasts that are the problem, it's the other podcasts that they do that's the problem. So OP isn't listening to them spread hate. Other people are on a different podcast.
I don't think computer industry related podcasts should be political or anything but I also understand that human beings are human beings and can't help but make comments or go off on tangents. So it's hard to separate out the two.
I wouldn't ever seek out podcasts for computer related stuff based on someone's gender or sexual identities, regardless how I feel because I don't personally feel it's important enough at the end of the day since I'm not there for their political commentary and just the technology that's identity agnostic.

I use it because 22 years ago it was more appealing than redhat or Mandrake. It forced me to learn more about Linux because I had to resolve almost everything myself than any other distro. I was using before it had a package manager and honestly after the dependency hell of rpms in 2000s it just seemed more problematic to use one that resolved dependencies than not. Usually I used to and sometimes still use it for a nice base to compile everything on. I dunno. It's my Linux equivalent to my first car that I loved.
Arguably the location data has several purposes, and needs to be collected but shouldn't have been available for sale. It's bad enough you can't keep law enforcement out of it but even worse when random businesses get the information.
That said, in this day and age, it should be a no brainier that your phone is a tracking device for multiple organizations and we should all keep that in mind

I've been raped and it's hard to have honest conversations now days because of this superficial escapism. It's definitely not an easy subject to discuss but hearing people say shit like "They've been graped" or "r@ped" seems to cheapen the gravity of the word and the experience. It's a word and topic that should make people uneasy and uncomfortable. On the same token people should be mature enough to see and hear these things or mature enough to leave, move on or skip it if they aren't able to handle it.

Are they shitty human beings? Sure. Despicable, corrupt, hypocritical and damaging human beings. Absolutely they are, but they're still people. They might try to dehumanize democrats and liberals and I push back at that point as well. I don't believe dehumanizing anyone, regardless of whatever they have done. People are capable of a wide set of behaviors and that has to be reconciled. Anyone is capable of becoming a monster, and throughout history anytime you start to dehumanize a group, you open the door for everyday people to become monsters. For me personally, I can't claim to be morally or ethically superior to these terrible people if I'm not better than they are, by not painting them as subhuman.
Most of the population is moderate and so painting this massive group as things that shouldn't be is dangerous. It's never worked out for anyone well when that basic, knee jerk reaction happens.
You should give everyone respect and dignity, even if they don't. You don't have to accept their views or be nice to them but they deserve the same basic respect and dignity any human being does. Painting this picture of a group of people being beneath your group has historically not worked out in terrible ways. It's not a good or healthy response to political discourse and doing what they're doing has never been a valid justification. If you want to act like they do, then I'm not sure why you wouldn't be with them.
I have simply accepted that if it leaves my thoughts, it's considered public information at this point. Everything else is presumed to be something people can find.
