I do, but as more people join I’m also feeling a little republican - i got my spot and this is good; everyone on the outside can go fuck off now. I don’t want it to get so big that it’s what we left. No intended disrespect or lack of acknowledgment to those who were here before.
I've found that I'm checking Kbin a lot less than I checked the other place, but I'm participating more because there's a lot less toxicity and hostility here (at least for the time being).
As if posting from a mobile device somehow prevents you from using paragraphs and punctuation? Give me a break. You either can't be bothered, which means you're not worth interacting with; or you had to repeat at least a high school English class or two growing up. Either way you need to stop blaming your fucking phone.
My 512GB Steam Deck, easily. I've used it almost every day for going on a year now, and the novelty of playing things like Witcher 3, or Mass Effect, or a fully modded Skyrim anywhere I want still hasn't worn off.
I really like it, for a few reasons. In no particular order:
I wasn't sold on this newest iteration of Kirk yet, but after this episode I'm wholly on board. We got to see some of the the swagger and the bravado that define James T. Kirk, but with a unique type of charm all his own as well.
I also wasn't the biggest fan of La'an, because she just hadn't the screen time yet to feel like a person. But in an episode all about the looming figure of her ancestry, we ended up seeing that she's much more than just a tie-in to the most popular TOS arch/villain.
Seeing an episode take place in the 21st century but not in Los Angeles was pretty cool, and being a Canadian I enjoyed that they took advantage of filming in Canada by not trying to pretend Toronto was New York or something. And then even leaning into the Canada thing with the Roots store and the Canadian currency... it made me happy.
I really appreciated the nod to the Temporal Cold War, and how it's likely responsible for the discrepancies between our timeline and the one Star Trek depicts — and the introduction of the Whovian-esque concept of "fixed points", or events that Time insists on making happen no matter what effort is put into averting them.
Whether you started with a 2600 and a joystick in your hand, an N64 with a blistered palm or building your first PC in your teens, what is that one video game you've played at some point that to this day sits at the top of your list.
This couldn't be more untrue. It's all but impossible to mention Skyrim in any gaming of gaming-adjacent space without someone bringing up how Morrowind or Oblivion were better.
USS Voyager, NCC-74656 will always be top of my list. Seeing her in S3 of Picard made me even happier than seeing the Enterprise D (though hearing Majel Barrett as the computer again was another favourite moment).
The SSV Normandy from Mass Effect (either the SR1 or the SR2 — they're both beautiful galaxy-saving vessels).
The Ebon Hawk from Knights of the Old Republic, even if it is an unoriginal design for the franchise.
Are we still entertaining the notion that the man isn't deliberately destroying Twitter? Because it definitely seems conscious and purposeful, and has for a while now IMO.
I love KFC, when me and my family are poor(and still are) i would go and eat KFC like almost every single week and it was cheap here + Delicious aswell. I loved KFC Fries the Most, it was so delicious. If i had enough money, i would buy enough of KFC and be a fat man in the week LMAO...
I like Wendy's and Subway well enough. I wish there were some decent Canadian options, but unfortunately most Canadian fast food places have gone to shit in the last decades — what's happened to Harvey's since I was a kid is just heartbreaking, and Tim Horton's isn't even Canadian anymore.
Frankly it was a steal compared to what some of the places we missed out on went for. One place we looked at was listed at 419, we offered 610, and it sold for 731. It was a ~1000 square foot bungalow with a half finished basement.
At first it was all about presenting data in an original looking way. In the end it was about pushing political ideas in your throat using a plain bar graph. It was not about sharing something interesting you found but about taking advantage of a captive audience.
I worked in men's fashion for almost a decade, and can safely say that sub was hot garbage full of lousy and unhelpful advice from people with such bad taste that I'm not convinced it isn't a troll sub.
I don't disagree that gendered spaces are primed to end up displaying a modicum of prejudice against the other, but I don't agree that this must necessarily be the case.
There are genuine issues facing men that I think we should be allowed and even encouraged to discuss, and I think it's important that such conversations are had with other men in particular to reduce the stigma surrounding them. So in my mind the goal of such a space isn't to discourage women from participating, but localizing the discussion so that it's easier for men to find.
The unfortunate truth is that too many men these days seem to think feminism is out to oppress them, which simply isn't the case.

I think you're a malevolent, hateful, backwards bigot who shouldn't be welcome here... but I also genuinely appreciate the comedy in how you've been handling any references to your presence on m/FoxNews.

Reddit hated emojis, how does Kbin feel?
Seemed like emojis in posts / comments would get downvoted to oblivion on Reddit. I don’t see the same thing on Kbin (or other instances / services).
